Eberron: Stone of Sorrows

Darr-Ghen Cyn'myl Ranger/ Wizard

"Darr-Ghem as you may have guessed of the Cyn'myl." the tall drow exclaims with a slight nod of his head. "I agree might magic had to be at work to subdue so many and escape with Li'Brae with no visible trail. But still someone would have to control those magic's." he continues as he kneels down to gather some 'hairs' for himself. "And the description of big, filthy, and soon dead is most probably correct. But I will hold my assumptions of our quarry till I have more evidence. The item is of fine workmanship. Who ever wore it had skill or at least intelligence. That makes them a dangerous prey till we know more." Hearing the faintest groan of the tree Darr-Ghen raises his gaze barely making out the slight form of the Zin'll. "Have you found something of interest, cousin?"

"I find it odd that someone so skilled in magic and so full of knowledge could possibly leave behind such a valuable trinket. Does this ring have any inscriptions inside of the band or any other markings that might lead us to the crafter?" Xu'dra asks as she slowly turns and walks to her mount, holding the quill-like hairs for Dao'lin to sniff and try and find a track.

OCC: Dao'lin (Dienonychus Mount: MM 60) Survival Check 27 (roll 17 + 10 Survival skills)

Darr-Ghen Cyn'myl Ranger/ Wizard

Darr-Ghen turns to address Xu'dra "I agree it seems more likely the ring was left behind to assure someone would follow."

Khek Zin'll Rogue/Cleric

You do find a hole in the 'roof' of the grove (the bottom of the green road). Do you proceed through?
With a great deal of care Khek creeps silently towards the hole, using the leaves of the great trees for cover, cautiously sniffing at the air and straining his ears for any sounds coming from the green road. Carefully he sticks his head through the hole, looking around for any sign of trouble before deciding whether to move fully onto the green road.

[sblock]move silently (roll 16 + skill 12 = 28), hide (roll 11 + skill 12 = 23, listen (roll 9 + skill 8 = 17), spot (roll 6 + skill 8 = 14), if he doesn't see any threats he will climb through the hole and conduct a thorough search (take 20 + 9 skill = 29)[/sblock]

"Maybe Rea'tha, this fey companion of the late Jherra, could provide information. I personally have no skills in magic and as you all seem to believe this crime was commited by magical means, I am of no help right now. The sooner we finish this errand, the faster we can visit Hamzun'Ar at the Shrine of Phrell."

Xu'dra stands gaurd in the sacred grove with an eye to the as if expecting an assault at any moment.

"I am of similar opinion as Xu'dra, if we can't solve this for now, we'd better be on our way. Perhaps someone in the city can tell us something 'bout the ring. We should just wait until Khek returns here" -What is he doing up there?-

Eriaz stands quietly, looking to the canopy in the direction Khek disappeared.

You find a large hole (approx. 10' diameter) that goes all the way to the 'surface' of the green road. With the smoothness of the cut, u can guess that more than normal means were used to make the hole that is directly above where the great shard once stood.

On the surface of the green road you only find a small length of hemp rope...

Kkek Zin'll Cleric/Rogue

Khek hangs from the canopy of the Kiok trees and signals frantically to the group that stand cluttered around the clearing. "Come, I have found how they moved the shard from the clearing, this needs further investigation" he scurries over to a vine that hangs from one of the great trees and untangles it before throwing it down to his comrades "quick, the tracks are still fresh, we must move and we can use the Green Road to get to this Shadowed Vale"
