To answer the post's original question: yes, the wagging finger was utilized. They explained that perhaps it was just as well, since every movie that week got 2 thumbs up and a review of The Fog may have broken that. :p
 

Hm, having forgotten that Roper is the guy who replaced Siskel on that show, I thought that 'Roper' was something to do wiht D&D, hence I was intrigued...
