Buh? That Lord Soth bit isn't right.

Oh well.

Cheers,

Huh. You're right. I hadn't even read that section when reading the article, since I'm so familiar with Soth's history.

It's a cool idea for a character background; it's just not Soth.

But, as you say, ah well. It's still a great article. :)

Yep that's definitely a halfling, and its got the spearpoint anime-elf ears too. I truly hope I don't see this on more 4e art, I've always hated those. And that's definitely a 3 disguised as a badly done snake symbol.

And speaking of Easter Eggs:

Zombies are referred to as "dim-witted." Not "mindless."

The article makes mention of "battle wights" and "sword wraiths." It also specifies humanoid skeletons, suggesting that other types are still possible in 4E. It might, depending on how one interprets the paragraph, suggests that humanoid skeletons may not be as dim-witted as zombies, though I think that's probably reading too much into it.

Blargh!

Okay, somebody didn't do their research...

And no mention of Ausric Krell!

Frickin, frackin...

I think they're repurposing Soth a bit, removing him from Dragonlance as they've mentioned that they're going to do with Bigby.

With him being in Ravenloft too, that makes a lot of sense.

Also, I thought it was correct in the broad strokes. I recall that Soth had a chance to stop the cataclysm but turned back because he thought his wife was being unfaithful anyway.

As someone who hasn't played DL since the 80's, it seemed accurate in broad strokes to me. But I am far from an expert.

That would be a huge mistake, IMO. It's a disservice to the character.

Some general things are okay, but some parts are just...off. Here's his Dragonlance Lexicon entry: Loren Soth.
