This is the one thing i don't understand more people using. I just don't understand the "my players refuse to do..." post. i understand about game harmony but you are the dm. act like it. :D

Well, if it's all the players, then most likely it will be them with a new DM and you without a group, if you decide to "act like it." ;)

Of course, if you're related to the gamers, it's harder for them to leave the group. ;) Or is that easier? Anyway, to avoid whining or griping, set the guidelines right from the get-go -- as long as you're fair about it and not simply trying to exert influence to inflate your ego or sense of control.

If gamers are going to be so upset over not getting their way that they decide to leave, maybe you are better off playing with more mature players? Or maybe you can compromise and try their ideas in a side-campaign?

That's what we do.
