Henry said:Gary has been quoted before (can't recall the source, but it has been through several interviews in the past) that many of the spell effects from the old Chainmail game and from the old D&D books were direct ports from effects such as catapults, ballistae, tank blasts, etc. Their blast radii, and areas of effect and such, came directly from such effects, which were already playtested.

ColonelHardisson said:hey, just so ya know - I already debunked the "TSR copyrighted 'Nazi'" myth. It stems from the Indiana Jones RPG, which had cardboard miniatures. Each was labelled, some with copyright notices - but only the ones with a "name" character like Indy or Short Round, and the copyright notice was for lucasfilm, not TSR. I have the minis right here on my bookshelf.
