Elan Template

From an upcoming thingy I'm putting together, a Feat and a Paragon class:

Psionic Affinity [General, Psionic]
You have undergone psionic rituals that have forever changed you.
Prereq: Human
Benefit: You gain +2 power points. This gives you the [psionic] subtype and allows you to take [Psionic] feats, but does not grant you the ability to manifest any Psionic powers (unless you already have them from another source, like a class).
Additionally, you gain Repletion (Su): You can sustain your body without need of food or water. If you spend 1 power point, you do not need to eat or drink for 24 hours.
Penalty: You become more withdrawn into yourself, and you suffer a -2 racial penalty to Charisma or Wisdom (your choice, but cannot be changed once chosen).
Special: Unlike other [Psionic] feats, Psionic Affinity is available to any character with or without a power point reserve. It is also available as a bonus feat to Psions and Psychic Warriors.

Elan Aspirant
Prereq: Human, Psionic Affinity, Psionic Body
HD: d6
Class Skills: Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Knowledge (all skills, taken individually) (Int), Profession (Wis), and Psicraft (Int).
Skill points/level: 2 + Int.

Code:
[u] BAB F / R / W Psionics Special[/u]
1 +0 +0 /+0 /+2 +1 Psion Low-Light Vision
2 +1 +0 /+0 /+3 +1 Psion Resistance
3 +1 +1 /+1 /+3 +1 Psion Resilience
4 +2 +1 /+1 /+4 -- Aberrant Transformation, Darkvision, +2 Int

Weapons & Armor: 1st level Elan characters with no other class levels are proficient with Simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor does not, however, interfere with the manifestation of powers.

* Psionics: An elan advances as a Psion, gaining powers and power points. She does not choose a Discipline until she takes an actual level of Psion (and thus a 1st level character with only a level of Elan could not choose powers from any Discipline list); however, once she has a Discipline, she may freely choose new powers from her Discipline list when advancing as an Elan.
* Low-Light Vision (Ex): Elan see better than normal humans -- twice as far in low-light conditions.
* Resistance (Su): Elan can use psionic energy to increase their resistance to various forms of attack. As an immediate action, an elan can spend 1 power point to gain a +4 racial bonus on saving throws until the beginning of her next action.
* Resilience (Su): When an elan takes damage, she can spend power points to reduce its severity. As an immediate action, she can reduce the damage she is about to take by 2 hit points for every 1 power point she spends.
* Aberrant Transformation: The elan has induced mental self-evolution. Her type changes to Aberration (augmented humanoid, human). She is thus qualified for [Aberrant] feats. Finally, she becomes immortal -- she will never die of old age.
* Darkvision (Ex): As an aberration, an elan gains Darkvision out to 60 ft.
* Ability Increase: The true focus of her self-evolution is, of course, the improvement of her mental ability. Upon completing her aberrant transformation, the character gains +2 Int. This bonus is treated as though gained through level advancement.

How big an impact does the Abberation type have? Does it do anything besides make you immune to Charm/Dominate/Hold/Fondle Person spells?

Why is it that only humans can become elans? I don't have the book, but I am just wondering why you couldn't have elves, half-elves, heck, any humanoid become an elan.
