Elder Evils Cover - Kyuss?

I was looking around for info on D&D Gameday, and I found this page:

This has a cover of Elder Evils. Does anyone know where they got this cover from? This is the first time I've seen it. Is it in the winter catalog?

I dont really see the point in a book of super bad guys if no stats are used.

I believe that cover is from the Dungeon that featured the last adventure of the Age of Worms AP. If not the cover of the magazine, then the intro art to the adventure itself.

Edit: Well, not the cover, but darn close.

The sense unnamed people I know got when writing the book (and contrary to what the cover says, Mr. Schwalb did not write it all himself) was that it was meant as a campaign ender. In hindsight, I imagine it's meant to serve the same purpose as those 2e adventures that destroyed worlds to allow for 3e makeovers.

Does that make sense? There were 3.5 stats included in the turnovers that unnamed people I know sent in.
