But you will just disagree because it's your baby now
Still not naming one. Looking real credible...

What happened man, you used to be all about presenting builds proving one thing better or worse than another, or refining assumptions and scenarios regarding optimization to get more precise results. You changed man, you changed.

What should be obvious is that if it were obvious, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Too much work and doesn't ever go anywhere because someone always disagrees. I'll leave you a homework assignment. Optimize your character for a few levels like 6 and 12 and so on. Then compare it to a Fighter 1 Warlock X (which is generally considered a solid multiclass option by most). It won't take long for you to see what i'm talking about.

Burden of proof falls onto you not me. That said, I very well shall. When I get back to my books.

I don't think that its actually that bad. It might look that way to start with, but remember that without the Pact Boon ability of a Warlock, it isn't going to be taking the invocations that would synergise particularly well with melee combat. A lot of the better invocations require Eldritch Blast or one of the pacts, neither of which this has access to.

(I would throw in a rider to the class stating that if the character picks up Eldritch Blast from elsewhere, such as a feat, they can't use invocations requiring it.)

If you're going to be allowing the Warlock UA material, then yes, some judicious editing may be needed, but unless it can perform better than a pure Fighter, I don't see an issue with it.
