It's (an) elemental, dear Watson!
Err...
The new party member of the group is a Bonded Summoner (from the Miniatures Handbook, pages 16-18). She brought along her Fire Elemental Companion. So far, so good.
In the course of the fight against a foe wrapped in a fire shield spell, the fire elemental took damage from the spell's effect.
1.) Now, how do you heal an Elemental (in general). How do you heal a Fire Elemental specifically? I think the normal hit point recovery rules apply to an elemental (1 hp/HD for 24 hours of rest).
As a wizard, the bonded summoner hasn't access to healing spells. Any cleric casting cure spells (except the "Mass" versions) must touch the recipient (fire elemental) and would suffer the damaging effects from a touch against a fire elemental. The cleric could protect herself with appropriate spells before touching the fire elemental. That's ok.
2.) So, from there we would go over to allowing the fire elemental to benefit from a healing potion. Is it a) allowed by the RAW?, and b) possible for a fire elemental to consume a potion (or handle any other kind of flammable or evaporating objects)?
3.) I'm relatively sure that I've read something about an elemental healing faster (or recovering hit points) if it were immersed in its own elemental, such as an earth elemental standing on stone, a water elemental immersed in the ocean, or a fire elemental standing in a bonfire. Is that true or is it a leftover from 2nd Ed?
4.) Are there any spells related to elementals in general, and "healing/repairing" specifically?
Please let me know if you have more knowledge about those kind of things.
Kind regards
