[ELH feat] Shoot Anything

First off, I don't have the ELH, but at a gaming session last Saturday, one of my friends showed us this feat. We got to laughing about how you could use a crystal ball from Faerun to shoot someone on Oerth or Ravenloft.

Seriously though, could you do that? Using the crystal ball, you can see the target in question.

I have no idea what your pal is talkin' about. The closest feat I can think of is Distant Shot. You can shoot anything you can see without range penalties, but a crystal ball can't help you with that.

Yeah, with this feat, you can shoot enemies with a crystal ball. Just make sure the arrows are of a high enough enhancement bonus to penetrate the crystal ball.

Also, you can shoot enemies that you see in your dreams or through hallucinations.

Maybe he thought you could duct-tape the crystal ball to your arrow and kill someone with that?

It's better than the even more absurd image I had in my head...I feared for a moment it was going to be an archery-equivalent to the S&F feat 'Throw Anything'. I had horrifying visions of archers loading greatswords into their bow...

Why not? You can still see the person in question with the crystal ball. Also, does the max range increment stay at 10?

Why not? You can still see the person in question with the crystal ball.

Because it's line of sight, which is different then just seeing something through a scrying device.

With Distant Shot, there is no max range anymore. Basically, you can shoot at something as far away as you can see with the naked eye and not suffer the standard penalties for range, because range no longer applies to you in that way. Your "range" is now determined by how far you can see.

Note, in that last sentence, I said SEE, not SCRY.

I thought the same thing! If you think greatswords would be silly, what about improvised weapons, like beer bottles and barstools?
