Well the PHB has them down for a +2 to Dex, which means theyd make excellent rogues if they started with a 20 Dexterity.
For my homebrew I give my players a choice between +2 Int, +2 Wis or +2 Cha. Depending on which one they pick their favored class becomes Wizard, Cleric or Sorcerer. I also implement favored classes differently. How I handle is by giving the player a 20% experience bonus for staying in their favored class. If they multiclass they lose the bonus.
