Elves vs. Vulcans

I've not done so with Elves, but an old homebrew world I made had the Dwarven culture based heavily upon that of the Star Trek Klingons. Racial alignment being LE rather than LG, but with a strong sense of honour.

I loosely based my paladin's Code on some of the Klingon's Code of Honor. They don't attack from behind, don't attack weaker foes nor the helpless, they fight fair, even from a more "savage" viewpoint.

In our 2E game, my son played a centaur fighter with a Klingon-like attitude. He was not somebody you ever wanted to tick off.

Feh. ;) I had a female human cleric of Torm who you wouldn't want to tick off either.... Especially if you were something evil and it offered her the chance to 'join it or die'. She flipped it off before attacking it. :]

Pfft. Yeah right! Klingons would use their disruptors for about five seconds, drop them in favor of their batt'leths, and then get slaughtered by the Orcs. They don't stand a chance. If Imperial Storm Troopers could get their butts kicked by Ewoks, then you damn well better believe that Klingons, who're beyond stupid, and who've been heavily sissyfied in recent Trek series', would get their butts kicked by Orcs.

You're mistaken. Klingons are much better fighters, both long range (not counting Worf) and hand-to-hand (which they're undoubtedly better at) than any elite stormtrooper could ever dream of being. They'd own the orcs' hides, what was left of them! And any Ewok who got in the way as well! :]

Actually, it's okay to attack from behind. That's why no Klingon would expose their back.

Even assassination is acceptable, as long as poison is not involved. It's a coward's tool.

I think I'll inject a good dose of logic into the elves in my Eberron campaign, but maybe make them a little haughty and difficult to get along with, like the Vulcans in Enterprise.
