A JetBlue airliner made an emergency landing a bit ago in LA - the nose gear was down and twisted to one side and couldn't be retracted or righted.
The plane landed, stayed on its right and left gear as long as possible, then lowered the nose and let the tires and bottom of the nose gear burn away as they coasted to a stop. The plane looked like a three-legged stool when it stopped moving. It appeared that there were no injuries.
I used to travel on business a fair amount, and I admit thinking of commercial pilots as well-paid taxi drivers. Moments like this remind me of something:
Pilots have testicles of blued steel.
Yes, that includes the women.
