Hi there, folks! I thought I'd try out a little monster I whipped up on you folks. It's not the most original or complicated, but I like the concept involved. Of course, someone's probably already done these kinda monsters, but hey! Here's my version!

I apologize for the posting spam, but I figured it might be a little more convenient to break up some of the information. Hope you enjoy!

EMOTIONALS

Where elementals are formed from the stuff of physical creation, emotionals are the incarnations of the base feelings and instincts of the sentient mind. They vary in intentions, but are all equally wild and potentially dangerous. Unlike their distant cousins, the elementals, they are often more perceptive, as the stuff of their make is mined from thoughts of living things.

COMBAT

Emotionals vary in their methods of attack, but they share the qualities of elementals.

Elemental: Immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, and stunning. Not subject to critical hits.

Immunities: All emotionals are immune to mind-influencing effects.

Climate/Terrain Type: Any land or underground
Organization: Solitary
Challenge Rating: Small 1; medium 3; large 5; huge 7; greater 9; elder 11
Treasure: None
Alignment: Usually neutral
Advancement: Small 3 HD (Small); medium 5-7 HD (Medium-size); large 9-15 HD (Large); huge 17-20 HD (Huge); greater 22-23 HD (Huge); elder 25+ (Huge)

Fear Emotional

FEAR EMOTIONAL

Fear emotionals are strange, unpredictable creatures. They are at once frightened by their own existence, and yet possessed with spreading their fear to others.

A fear emotional looks like a vaguely humanoid shadow composed of swirling shades of black, purple, and blue that never seem to hold their shape for very long. Even when staring directly at one, it is difficult to discern a true form, though few observe them so closely as the churning matter of their bodies reveals brief glimpses of disturbing, horrific images.

Fear emotionals speak the language mainly used on whatever plane they happen to dwell on, though they rarely, if ever, communicate with any other living thing.

COMBAT

Fear emotionals are prone to fleeing from combat, but just as easily turn on their pursuers to attack, especially in dark or haunting areas, such as graveyards and abandoned temples where there are large stores of negative emotional energy. Cornering one can turn into quite an ordeal.

Terror Touch (Su): Those hit by a fear emotional's slam attack must succeed at a Will save or be affected as though by the spell fear, as cast by a sorcerer with a level equivalent to the emotional's Hit Dice. The save DC varies with the emotional's size.

Bliss Emotional

BLISS EMOTIONAL

Bliss emotionals are carefree, fun-loving creatures that see no purpose in fighting and wish to show all other creatures in the multiverse how to live in peace.

A bliss emotional looks like a tall, thin humanoid with vague features, composed of fluxing shades of bright white, violent, and pink. They are usually wreathed in a soft white light that warms and comforts nearby living things. These strange beings hardly ever touch the ground, floating as free as they feel.

Bliss emotionals speak the main language of whatever plain they reside on, and enjoy whispering sweet and comforting things to their calmed charges.

COMBAT

Though they are capable of being quite fierce when confronted with the most belligerent of foes, bliss emotionals prefer to calm raging creatures with their peaceful touch or flee if their ability fails. Bliss emotionals, however, do not reserve their peaceful touch for just raging creatures, but share it with anything that happens by.

Peaceful Touch (Su): A bliss emotional can make a melee touch attack against any living creature and cause any rage or anger to fade, creating a sense of calm and peacefulness. The 'attack' does no damage, but the opponent must succeed at a Will save (DC varies with size) or be affected as though having been the targe of a calm emotions spell with a duration of 2d4 rounds.

Thanks a bunch! I pretty much tried to use the regular elementals as a guide so as not to screw too much of the math-type bits up. If anyone has any ideas about other emotions that would make good bases for other emotionals, I'll see what I can't do about hammering them out. Of course, you could always put up your own!
 

A very interesting and original idea, as are your "elemental genies," and very well written. Bravo!

What about Hatred, Sadness, Love, Scared. Just throwing out some emotions.

ah, those emotions are overdone anyway. ;) isn't scared about the same as fear? gishy, you've been up too late converting elementals again haven't you? :)

I actually haven't converted an elemental in a while other than creating my own. I'm working on my new Fey'tid creature :)
