EN World Appreciation Thread

Shouldn't this be in Meta??!!

*giggles insanely*

Seriously, we really appreciate the kind words -- admins and moderators live on love. Thank you. :)

Just lending my voice to those above. My d20 experience would not be the same without this place. I used to visit a few other sites, and even tried the WOTC messageboards. For reasons that I think go without saying, on most days ENWorld is now my one-stop d20 site.

Eric, if you had not started all this I don't think the d20 community would be what it is today. My friends and I had stopped RPG altogether years ago, and stumbling upon your site, pre-3e release, got us excited and involved again.

Morrus, taking up the reins, and putting your own stamp on the place without messing with the basics that made it great, was unexpected and much appreciated. When I read the news the day Eric announced he was bowing out, I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. You saved a good thing, and continue to improve upon it.

To the others who give of their time to make this place great, we all thank you. The only moderator with whom I have dealt directly was PirateCat, and you went way above my expectations in helping me incorporate OSM into my campaign.

This is a fantastic community. We have a good thing going here. And it didn't just happen, people had to make it happen. Thank you.

without this site i never would have heard about 3e before it came out, i never would have known about half of the books i own, i probably would have stopped playing rpg's as most of my gaming group was about ready to quit gaming and i do not know any other gamers that i like enough to be in the same room with on a weekly basis. i nailed them with the few tidbits about 3e we knew in december 1999 and their interest was rekindled.

the story hours inspire me to new heights as a player and as a dm, the reviews are a great factor in making my purchasing decisions and if i have questions of a more specific nature, there are allways folks here willing to help out. i'm even working on a mass combat system/sourcebook that i will try to shop around to companies i would not know existed if it was not for this site. i do not post as much as some people but i have been here for longer then my current userdata would indicate. on the off chance my book gets published at all, i owe it primarily to eric noah and morrus though they will of course be paid nothing. :) thanks to everyone involved with this site in any way for giving me a reason not to cancel my internet service.

I usually shy away from these kinds of threads, but...

...it's true. EN World rules. The collection of people that we have here is a great source of entertainment, inspiration and amusement. The admins & moderators do a great job at keeping things civil. It's really great to have industry people hanging out - Monte, Mearls, Pramas, Erik Mona and the other periodicals staff - it's great to post questions or concerns about a product and get an answer straight from the horses mouth, and often times in no time flat.

Don't even get me started on how great it is to have Gary Gygax hanging here.

Also I'd like to point out a couple of sections of the site that I think are sometimes overlooked:

First, the reviews section. Psion, Simon, Tuerny, trancejeremy and others - the time that you guys put into reading and reviewing all these products is appreciated. As I've gotten used to your styles, I find that now I can usually get a good enough sense of a product that I can tell whether or not it's up my alley - even when I disagree with the reviewer. If not for the reviews section of this site, I would have probably missed out on several great products that I wouldn't have otherwise picked up, like Spycraft and Book of the Rigtheous.

Finally, everyone who hangs out on the rules board - I may not hang out there all the time myself, but when a question comes up in game and I'm looking for clarification or unbiased opinions, it's great to be able to just throw it out there to the DMs (& players) of the world.

Nice work, everyone.

I'm pretty much a lurker here as well, but it is the unrelenting quality of the place that keeps me coming back. In fact, though I most often feel I personally have little or nothing to add to the entertaining and often edifying discussion here, I show up every single day if I can manage it.

So, to Eric, Morrus, the moderators, and fellow community members alike, I'd like to express my vast, continuing, and unabating gratitude. Thanks for making this a place I really miss visiting on my "off" days. :D

Aww, man you guys are giving me a tooth ache!:p

Ok, really though it's all the great people that come here, that make this place so wonderful. Whether you are a game designer, a Admin, Mod, or someone that just likes to hangout. Every time you help someone with a question, make someone laugh, get some one interested in a new product, or start a game at fight club or in character. You help make this a better place to be.

This is truely a great community, and i'm proad to be part of it.

Hurn! Now i'm giving me a toothache!:( :D

Yay for EN World! Yay for Eric! Yay for Morrus! A general yay for the mods! A hug for hong! :) And a yay for who ever thought of the In Character board, without which I wouldn't have created two of my favourite characters! :)
