EN World Iconics: To 4e or Not to 4e.

I'm disappointed. I thought I was far too cool and aloof to be merely iconic.

I've looked at 4e, and on balance I think I don't like it. This is also disappointing, as I was all for it 6 months ago. I haven't played it, though. I'm playing 3.5e and Traveller 20 at the moment. That's not likely to change.

I can wait another 8 years, when the pendulum will swing back toward the middle. I have no doubt that 5e will be absolutely stellar.

Sep - Being cool and aloof is what makes one iconic. Thanks for the reply.

Before I add anyone, or before this admittedly flawed thread dies, can anyone out there (Piratecat, Wulf, etc.) shed any light on the following Unknowns?

el-remmen - Believed to be going 4e.

Allow me...

The last I heard, due to the preferred playstyle of his group, and the needs of his campaign, el-remmen is NOT switching to 4E. He may, however, steal a few 4E ideas for use as house rules.

(Bolding mine)

Even though I've got some problems with 4e I will say that my opinion of it improved considerably when I played it. Opinions will differ I'm sure but I found that the changes from 3.x seemed much smaller in play than on paper. And the changes that were obvious weren't all bad.
