EN World: What vibe does it give you?

I like EN World enough to have donated money to see it maintained in a happy state of existence. Overall, the people here are pleasant, supportive, informative and pretty entertaining. That isn't to say I've never had a poor experience at EN World, but they are few and far between...and there's no accounting for morons.

IMO this site has fewer cliques and is more tolerant and accepting of new members and different views than most other sites I've browsed/posted on.

I voted that it's pretentious but I like it for the most part. Som e of the posters are jerks, and some act like they are high and mighty and anyone who doesn't play thier style is "hurting the game", etc. But it's still cool.

And no offense (Whatsoever) to the nutkinland people, but to me the swearing on those boards gets a little sickening. Seems less about d20 than I would prefer also.

I chose "A friendly and supportive online community"... but like any other community of very passionate supporters, there is an amount of... whininess and being demanding. That said, I really like it here... or else I really wouldn't come here.

I've been with the EN boards since before we knew what 3e really was. I remember all the little news snippets and rumors as we tried to piece together what things would be like in the new edition. (My favorite was the discussion where I put together a semi-working Gnome Cleric of Garl Glittergold, just because those were the only race, class and god we knew anything about at the time. )

Needless to say, I kinda like it here.
