Enchanted Spiked Shield

Is it possible to enchant a shield spike with anything other than an enhancement bonus? If so, is it possible to do the following:

+5 Shield, with +5 Defending Shield Spike -> +12 AC
+5 Defending Longsword -> +5 AC
+5 Mithral Full Plate -> +13 AC
+5 Amulet of Natural Armor -> +5 AC
+5 Ring of Protection -> +5 AC

Expertise -> +5 AC
Dex bonus -> +3 AC
Haste -> +4 AC
Dodge -> +1 AC
Shield spell -> +7 AC

For an AC of about 70? Granted, it takes a lot of equipment (~270k gp), but man, that's tough to hit. All with just plain old fighter.

The deflection bonus from the sword and shield would not stack as they are the same named bonus.

They may not stack with the ring either, as I think that they are all "Deflection". I could be wrong about the ring since I don't have my DMG handy.

Luckstone also adds a +1 luck bonus to AC.
Prayer give opponents a -1 to hit (effective +1 ac).
Dwarf vs. Giant gives +4 dodge bonus to AC.
Mobility gives a +4 vs. AoO.

Well, I had some time to pick up the books and look into it a little bit more. From the DMG:

"Defending: A defender weapon allows the wielder to transfer some or all of the sword's enhancement bonus to his AC as a special bonus that stacks with all others."

So at least from that standpoint, the bonuses would stack. I still don't know about placing non-enhancement enchantments on a shield spike, though.

Yep, they stack. Note however that since the defending enhancement states that you must be weilding the weapon, not just holding it, that could indicate that you must be using the shield as a weapon and taking off hand penalties to hit.

Also, you don't necessarily need to spend that much money. A number of those +5 enhancements can be provided by GMW and Magic Vestments.

As to whether you can enchant armor/shield spikes, I don't see why not. They are weapons after all. Just remember that they must be enchanted separately from the shield.

Now to get really silly, add in Armor spikes and Boot Blades from Song and Silence, all with the defending enhancement and a Chain GMW to get them all to +5 wih one spell.

AC 85 without the prayer and whatnot. BTW Luckstones don't add to AC, only skills, saves and stat checks. I believe that Will Meunch's Super AC Man uses all of this.
