Hypersmurf, I concede the point to you on temporary ability score drain.

But I still feel that a confirmed critical on poison should still do 2d10 instead of 1d10.
It's hard enough to get a nat 20 and then confirm it. Also I've seen people saying that games are not deadly enough. This just makes people feel the threat even if it's not happening. :)

By the rules, poison damage isn't doubled on a critical.

The poison spell doesn't do the ability damage directly, it creates a poison that you deliver with the touch attack. The touch attack does no damage, so no extra damage is scored on a critical. The poison is delivered when you touch them, and they make the save against the poison.
