Enervation Spell

That is what I thought. Now enervation stacks on itself right? Since the spell grants negative levels which is not a bonus per say and thus avoids the like bonuses cannot stack rule.

yep and it's cool too.

I killed a player with this spell in boss battle witha sorcerer who was hasted. He nailed the barb twice both times I rolled a 4. He would of been dead anyways since I critted on the 1st attack doing a total of 60 points of damage with both shots. With the fireball damage he took in the 1st round it was all she wrote for him. Come to think of it I killed the wizard in that fight too.

I've said it before, that a wand of enervation is a deadly weapon, especially in the hands of a character with a high attack bonus that can aim it. I have reduced even illithids to nothing more than piles of dust with a wand of enervation and it's a spell that I always pick when 4th level spell access opens up :)

Not that deadly when you play at higher levels. The wand would have a caster level of 7, not enough to defeat the SR of just about anything with SR....

Can someone point me to a section of a rulebook that says level drain below first level results in death?

I looked through the SRD and I find nothing at all about negative levels and their impact on a character.

DMG, section on energy drain. It also says so in the spell description.

You not only die, you turn into a wight as well, which makes you harder to raise.
