WotC isn't in the ENies because last time they were it was a complete sweep and there really wasn't much of a point to it. Or at least, that's what I remember...

I'm not 100% sure if WotC entered.

Also, they're ironically not eligible for a lot of the awards (d20/OGL).

I'm pretty sure WotC did not submit any entries.

It's probably just as well, though, since they tend to set the standard for d20 products. I'm not sure how fair it would be if they entered.

(Not to say that WotC products are all better than any others out there, but they have an advantage when it comes to the size of their production pocketbook.)

:( That's disappointing. I was hoping that there weren't any WotC products on there because people don't like their stuff anymore. Not that I wish them bad, but their stuff is pretty much useless to me these days, since I've never switched to 3.5.

I'm sure there is a good reason, and I'm just not seeing what it is, but why are there no WotC products, none were even nominated. Is it because WotC does not desire to participate in the awards, or are they barred since they would probably win the majority of awards if they were allowed?
As I understand it, the way WotC see it if they compete there are two basic potential outcomes:

a. They sweep the awards and people complain about that (and the awards probably have minimal effect on sales)

b. They don't win the awards and get embarressed.

So, arguably, it's a lose-lose proposition. Thus, the rational choice may have been not to enter.

I wanna chime in and say "congrats" to the other winners and "THANK YOU!!!!!" to everyone who voted for CC Gold. It's an honor to have such a labor of love recognized by the ones whose opinion really matter: gamers!
I wish you could have been there!

Makes sense ... besides, if a WotC product wins I'm likely to already know about it and not care much either way, but if a product I've never heard of wins an award I'm more likely to do some research about it and maybe even purchase it!

Congratulations to all the winners - I hoped that Necromancer Games would have got more nominations, but the other succesful publishers are working hard to put out good product so kudos to FFG, Green Ronin and co.

Just hope I'll get there one year to see it.
