Also, they're ironically not eligible for a lot of the awards (d20/OGL).

But they'd be eligible for non-d20 awards, which if they entered would lead to the interesting situation where "D&D" would win most of the non-d20 awards (since ENW is a d20 site and most of the voters know the WotC stuff, and may not know other company/system stuff), and the d20 awards would still be won by the people who one already (some of the art ones might change). Of course, all the non-D&D players would cry foul but....

Just to clarify guys:

Wizards was not barred, nor does this guideline prevent them from competing against d20 products. Our inclusion criteria is d20 logo or d20 SRD/MSRD in OGL statement. Thus they can compete alongside all the rest of the d20 products. We specifically strived to removed some of the sillier limitations of last year's award.

CC Gold should have gotten the gold. Great stuff!

Reminds me of a funny GenCon moment.

I was standing at the FDP booth the morning after, chatting with James Bell and Mike Johnstone of FDP (great guys!) James held up the box and says "It's called 'Counter Collection GOLD'! Take a hint! Next year we are going to put out 'Counter Collection: Give Us The Award Already!'"
