Everything, Phil.

All of your PDF's have great layout and art, just for starters... among the best looking PDFs out there. I'd say THE best looking if I was exposed to more PDFs...

I am personally especially impressed with Possessors, not just for the ideas, and the awesome artwork, but because you were Johnny-On-The-Spot with an awesome "patch" for the missing Mind Flayer.

I don't think I am going to enter anything this year... lay low for a bit and see how it shakes out...

Wulf

Phil you have great stuff I agree, enter it all!

Wulf--don't be a schmuck ;) send your stuff in, it is good stuff and may get nominated and/or win---e-mail your entry and get those books in fast!

What do you mean?

I mean that I am not ready yet to compete against the other folks under the Osseum banner: Green Ronin and Mystic Eye most specifically; or against Malhavoc/S&S, or against AEG, and most especially against Wizards of the Coast.

I would like to see if they sweep again this year...

Honestly, I would rather send 6 copies of my books out to good homes where they'll get some playtime. Any of the judges who want to recommend a worthy Half Orc or Elven player, drop me a line.

Well if you keep badmouthing the judges' homes like that of course you'll never win. :) But seriously, your works are just as good as the other companies' works that you listed. Personally, the nomination from the judges is more important than the popular vote since they see every product.

And quite frankly, I rather be competing against all of the current companies plus Bad Axe Games rather than competing against only part of the field. Granted you have a financial risk that I don't but I also think competing indicates that you believe in your stuff.

I don't think I'm quite coming across the way I want to. I'm trying to go for "football coach's half-time pep-talk".

Wulf, you shouldn't worry so much about WotC this year. They can only enter the non-OGL category. That means that market saturation won't be such a huge factor.

Of course it is entirely up to you, but I don't see any reason not to. The worst thing that could happen is you could get nominated for an award.

I should read the rules again I guess...

Think about it over the holiday weekend, ya know.

By the way, I'm not trying to be all "sour grapes" about it or anything, hope I am not giving that impression. It's just a combination of realistic expectations and being really, really friggin lazy.

If you look at some of the nominees last year, and at some of the special mentions, you'll see it isn't all about the big guys.

I also wouldn't assume none of the judges use your books.

EDIT: I don't want to push anyone into doing anything they don't want to do. The field is very competitive, this is true. But I'd like to point out that the judges take this all very seriously. We don't simply get your material - anyone's material - and pitch it into the round file if it isn't nominated.

A note of importance:

In Magica Medieval Society: Western Europe I'm cited as being a Content Reader. WhaT I did for that was basically give a review of the book to Joe Browning (the author) before it was published. He was unsure of the quality of the book and as many of you already know it's a great book.

BTW, This should perk up your weekend Wulf, even if it sounds like it was written by an 8-year old.

Heroes of High Favor: Dwarves
Review by elforcelf
Posted on 2003-05-24 23:12 Superb 5/5

Hi,this is my first review;I hope you like it. My review is on Dwarves:Heroes of high favor by Benjamin Durbin, known better as Wulf here on E.N.World.The book is printed by Badaxe Games for $9.95.The art work in the book is by Andrew Hale.It is a good value for you money;it is 62 pages long with very good artwork in it.I t starts out with some of the best skills and feats I have see so far. Then their is dward runes, which are runes done right. It is followed by dwarven craftsmanship whichI will us for elves too.At the middle of the book is the meat the prestige classes which take the favored class and matches it with each other class, then goves it a prestige classes for them.At last it has words to roleplay dwarves better.I give this book a 5.elforcelf
