I'd be greatly honored to be considered again.

I've been DM'ing and playing for 15+ years, was part of the first ever ENnies committee (under the name of The shadow of my former self), and have witnessed debates of almost any conceivable rules problem on the 'net over the years. ;)

Well, last year was a lot of work, but a lot of fun.

I will throw my hat in the ring this year. However, if I do, I will pretty much quit reviews in the interim. It's just too time intensive.

Why I should be an ENnies judge?

1) I did it last year. Experience counts, right? :)
2) As a reviewer, I have already seen many of the products that will get put up, and weighing criteria of products is old hat to me.
3) There is no #3. Fnord!
4) All the reasons BFG said... except I'm not a Virgo. I'm a Libra, which means I am good at weighing things. Yeah, that's it! :p

There you have it. :)

I, Henry Link, would like to be considered for a position as ENWorld "ENnie" Judge.

Hopefully, most of you know me, and know that I have been a part of this community for quite some time, now. I consider the "ENnies" to be a very prestigious award for game designers to receive, because its judges are selected from a base of fans dedicated to the gaming commuity, and the d20 gaming community in particular. I would do my utmost to give a serious and unbiased opinion of the submitted works.

I have never been an ENWorld ENnie judge before, but I believe I have the gaming experience and game system experience to perform this duty responsibly. I have the drive to see this project through, and the requisite time to see it done.

Furthermore, I plan to attend GenCon this year, and attend the ENnies in particular, so I would be able to be present at award presentation as well.

Thank you all for your time and your consideration.

Well this seems like it will be a no contest win for some of the older guys here on the board ;) but here I go anyways.

I have been playing RPG's for over 12 years. I enjoy H'n'S as much as sitting around in a murder mystery setting. I probably read about 1000-1500 pages of text a month in print for fun (this does not include reading stuff on the internet, or PDF's). I play and D/GM in 3 games a week and I am in a few PbP games. I went to college for a while to be an English major, but college was not good to me.

Why I would be good for this particular job. I was one of the coordinators for CyberCon last year and have some experience with this stuff. I also have been playing D&D for over 5 years (not as much as some of you folks out there, but I have been here through all of d20 ;)). I can't help but buy most of the new products on the market currently and, you can ask my wife, my budget for food sometimes get's hurt from it. I work a regular job, but can also put aside tons of time at night and on the weekends for this (and I have a lot of sick days saved up). My wife and I have been planning on vlounteering for GenCon for a while now. I am dedicated to projects when i start them.

The only reason that I am not one of the oldest members of ENworld is because I diden't discover it till about the beginging of that month you see under my name.

My reviewing style is not biast, I will give things that I dislike high scores if they deserve it, and the exact opposite of things that don't deserve it but catch my fancy. Thanks for considering me.

Also my internet communication skills are topnotch. I know how to hold and run; IRC chats, IM chat, Voice chat rooms, Video chat. I also have super-quick response time on emails and posts.

[edit: I reevaluated my ammount of reading and I over exagerated a bit, but it feels like that much ;)]

I'd like to include my name in for consideration as well. I've been gaming for over 20 years and have enjoyed a wide variety of games. Right now I'm running one game and playing in another so I have plenty of experience from both sides of the gaming screen.

I've been a member of the community for a few years and over the past year my participation has increased. I've done my share of reviews and have accumulated a sizeable collection of d20 books. I've organized one Ohio Gameday and am in the process of organizing a second one.

Thanks and best of luck for everyone.

I will throw my hat in the ring.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Active ENWorlder 7 months. Not a veteran yet, but not a newbie either.
2. I read quickly and accurately. I can meet deadlines.
3. I have not worked in the gaming industry.
4. Roleplayer, 20 years.

Good Stuff:
1. Fair, critical thinker. Good at critique, and good at applying someone else's standards for critique (for example, ENnies will focus more on campaign usefulness than writing style).
2. Diplomatic but firm. I don't lose my temper online, and I can disagree without disliking someone... and I can get others to do the same.
3. I am positively slobbering at the idea of a mountain of d20 books to read. I gleefully snort at the idea that there might be too many. Prove me wrong. I dare you.
4. Also a Libra. Libras rock.

Bad Stuff:
1. Gen con is expensive. I'm kind of poor. I will certainly try to have the money for it, but there is no guarantee here, maybe 50/50. I can definitely set aside the time, however.
2. I haven't done reviews here before. I'm not that well known, other than IronDM and my story hour. I'm just not that good at pimping myself ;).
3. There are already one or two ENnies judges I want to vote for besides myself.

Heck, I'll throw my hat in the ring:

My qualifications:

- EN Worlder since Dec 2000 (even if my current board incarnation doesn't quite reflect that -- I was just a lurker for a long time).

- RPG'er and wargamer since 1981 -- as both player and GM.

- I'm very organized and an extremely fast reader. I can communicate well both verbally and in writing. I'm trained in user centered design and heuristic evaluation (though I've never done it for an RPG product).

- I have the time to devote to it. I'd happily volunteer to collect and send stuff to the other judges.

- I've got a good feel for both the mechanical and story aspects of a product, and can break down the mechanics to find their flaws.

- I'm not an industry professional, nor have I been associated with the industry in any way except as a consumer. From that standpoint I represent the "everyday" gamer quite well. Do you want the movies you like selected for an Oscar, or the movies the professionals like! Someone has to speak for the masses -- I'm you're amateur!

Edit: Got my first d20 review up on EN World -- check it out! More to follow!

(Clarification: you do not have to plan to attend Gen Con to be considered for judging. It doesn't matter whether you can attend or can't attend or don't know if you can or not.)

I would like to be one of the Ennie judges this year. I have gamed for around twenty years, been active on the boards for a couple of years now and like to think of myself as fair minded, impartial and an all around nice guy.

Many of you already know me from me many (failed) Iron DM attempts (not asking for sympathy votes though mind you), my Fight Club work, and storyhour(s). I hope my record of civility, creativity and participation speak for themselves.

I have a fairly good idea of what I consider to be a good product and spend around $50 a month on gaming books and supplies. I am a very fast reader and will not have any problems wading through the material. Like others have said already, I laugh at the idea that I might be sent too many books.

And, on top of board and gaming experience is the fact that this will be my first year going to Gencon (I'll be there the 24th and 25th as of current plans) and being one of the Ennie Judges would make the whole experience that much more memoriable for me.
