ENnies Voting

Yeap I do, so in that case perhaps the closing date for publishers to send in their products would have to be earlier by a month? THEY need to do what they can. Even getting nominated means getting increased sales, and if a publisher can't figure that out, they're in the wrong business.

This year the cut off date was publishers was sometime in June; it's not inconceivable to have it moved to May.

Psion,
I think you guys did a great job. That is a lot of material to process. I think Krug was just making a general statement that you guys have provided a laundry list that some of us might like to go through and be able to vote on as well.

Yeap, there's no denying they did a great job. :) Just want more time to check out the undiscovered gems in the list!

It was actually a bit more complicated then that, but its nothing that youi all need to concern yourtself with. I'll just say next year there should be a lot more time.

While the time to check them out before and during voting is limited, the time to check them out after the voting is endless!!

If this years ENnies does one thing for me, it is that it has added to the games I want to run but have no time for. :D
Ditto for me too. I was amazed at the number of really great games that we received, and the overall high quality of the books. Too many great games to play, and never enough time to play them.

I want to chime in and agree with my fellow judges that the product quality was incredibly high.

Lots of product that I never would've picked up in my day-today life wound up making my final lists (A/State, Dawnforge, Redhurst:Academy of Magic...if anyone cares, these are what I am still reading a day after my "Job" reading was done).

I'm not sure the submission date nees to be moved at all, every year the Publishers are becomeing more timely about getting their stuff in (The perennial "First men in"--Mystic Eye Games--were beaten to the punch this year by....Chaosium! ). If there was any problem with reading times this year it was because a variety of miscomunications casued the mailout to run a little rougher than was necessary.

The problem was on our end, not the publishers' or the timetable's.

That said, the Judges burned the midnight oil nearly every day (I personally haven't been to sleep before 4am since the first shipment arrived).

Anyway, it is--without any question in my mind--the best ENnies ever :)
