Environmental Series Supplements! What do you want next?

Unearthed Arcana had four enviromental subraces: aquatic, arctic, desert, and jungle. My guess is that is the group WotC will use.

Frostburn - Arctic
Sandstorm - dessert
"riptide" - aquatic
anyone got a good one for jungles?

None of them fill me with glee. But out of them I like the Fire and ash.

What about a Plains of solitude (Savanahs) ? I suppose there isn't much need though.

Cast my vote for "Crosstides"/"Riptide" - adventuring above and below the surface of the sea, including rules for three dimensional combat, to be complimented by "Races of Water" - detailing locathah, merfolk, and sea elves while presenting an additional subaqueous race and a selection of new skills, feats, prestige classes, and monsters
Commit to following that with "Races of Shadow," giving the full treatment to goblins, kobolds, orcs and hobgoblins as player races, and you've got a preorder.

and the Hydronomicon - a tome which details the relations between sahuagin, ixitxachitl, and morkoth as well as describing the cults of Panzuriel and Yeathan.
I wouldn't be surprised to see that after Codex Anathema, given that they'll have 2/3 of the Monstrous Arcana covered in that one book, leaving just the sahuagin, IIRC, left to deal with.

(Side Note: can anyone tell me the actual difference between a marsh, a swamp and a fen?)

A swamp is inundated all the time and has trees as the dominate plants.

A marsh is inundated all or most of the time and has grass or sedges as the dominate plant.

Fens are the upland portions of bogs and have various herbs and shrubs. They are also basic in pH (bogs are very acidic).

Hi,

I'd vote for underwater first -- the current rules are pretty sketchy, and I didn't like the underwater rules in Seas of Blood or Broadsides. Second choice would be jungle & rainforest. This is a fascinating environment with lots of potential.

Cheers

Another for swamps, I'd like to run a game set on a wetlands-dominated planet.

Those looking for expanded combat rules for underwater might want to find an issue of Dragon 291 for an article called Water, Water Everywhere.

I'd also like to see an aquatic book, but with focus on the surface - rules for ships and the like. Not saying it should ignore the underwater stuff, but something like 2/3 surface, 1/3 underwater.
