ENworld, a home for 1Eers?

There are already a fair amount of AD&D1e players, AD&D2e players, OD&D players, and BD&D players who post here. The issue isn't about ENWorld not being accepting of older editions of the game or the people who play them -- it's about ENWorld not being accepting of people who, rather than coming here to discuss old school games, primarily come here to rant about how their favorite game is far superior to the current edition of D&D (or, in rare cases, all other editions of D&D). That's not productive discussion and people would be crazy to welcome it.

Whiz and other long standing members, please give people a chance, they may not be the evil invading droids you think. You don't like 1E I get that. You want ENworld to be a 3E centric place...I get that too. But there's no reason to post in threads that don't interest you. As the above poster noted, there is plenty more similar between the editions then different. Lets focus on those things. No reason to provoke people.

I don't think that's it at all. In many of the other threads several old school (and ADD&1e) fans have chimed in with their displeasure at the way our semi-annual vistors conduct themselves while on-site.

It is a 3E-centric place. Again, though, other games can be and are discussed here on a regular basis. Including older editions of D&D. The issue (again) is that "Your favorite game sucks!" is a non-starter for most folks.

Stop spamming the board with identical threads.

Yeah, that's why I defended racial level limits.

Instead of making up positions for me and sticking me with them, why not stop pounding on Start New Thread and start reading other folks' posts.

But there's no reason to post in threads that don't interest you.
STOP CREATING IDENTICAL THREADS AND USE THE EXISTING ONES.

As the above poster noted, there is plenty more similar between the editions then different.
Which has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

No reason to provoke people.
So you'll stop with the spam, then?

While I appreciate the sentiment of the original post, I think we have enough edition threads right now. Thread closed.

And folks? If you aren't interested in edition-oriented threads, don't read 'em or post in them.
