Okay we have five players. The first is a human Investigator with magic ability, the second is a human investigator that's a hacker, the third is a hero who is a slayer in training, the fourth is a half demon hero, and the fifth is a demon hero.

The magic guy uses magic, the hacker just gets his butt kicked and bleeds a lot if he doesn't run away, the want a be slayer kicks more then punches and uses a stake, the half demon has a mean electrical punch but that's nnot as mean as the full demons heat. She burns people with her touch.

Favorite d20 character so far is eith er Faroth, my archer Ranger. I was so happy when at tenth level he finally got a magical bow. It was a high magic campaign, I had 4 different magical weapons but no bow. It was frustrating.

Or Galen, who had no magicaweapon and he made it to 9th level. But he was a cleric and eventually got an acidic touch attack.

OK. I DM most of the time, but decided to take a break recently, and now I'm in three (!) campaigns. Being a teacher on summer break helps...

Group A: 1st level -
Gnome Warmage with a club and blast 'em spells (my character)
Human Cleric with a heavy mace
Human Rogue with spiked gauntlet and short sword
Elven Ranger with a long bow
Elven Cleric with a long sword

Group B: 4th level -
Human Ranger/Psion(Nomad) with a crossbow and powers (my character)
Halfling Rogue with a short sword
Human Fighter with a battle axe
Elven Cleric with a long bow

Group C: 10th level -
I started in this group at 9th level, and still not familiar with all the other characters. There are a lot of them, and the multiclassing combinations are boggling, but I'll try my best...
Dwarven Fighter with a waraxe (my character)
Human Wizard with staff and spells (cone of cold a favorite)
Elven wizard/rogue with a bow
Elven sorcerer with ?
Halfling rogue/cleric with short swords
Elven Ranger with a long bow
Human cleric/fighter with ?
Human Favored Soul with long sword

As for my favorite character, I'm really enjoying the ranger/psion with the crossbow. We've been fighting Gith, with their magic resistances, so the crossbow really has been helpful. Another favorite character was a human barbarian/cleric with a battle axe.

My current groupt that I DM has a human ninja with dual short swords, a halfling assassin (Swashbuckling Adventures core class) with a small rapier and a halfling rogue with another small rapier.

The characters I was partial to were my blind human fighter with a trident, my dwarven cleric with a warhammer, and my human wizard who specialized in acid magic and brewing the caustic stuff.

Our group are all 9th-level characters, but they are all multiclassed and I don't remember the exact breakdowns. But all class levels are within one of each other except PrC.

Male elf fighter/rogue with long sword and long bow
Female half-elf bard/sorceress/shadowdancer with rapier, throwing dagger and lots of wands
Female elf fighter/rogue with long sword and long bow
Female elf fighter/sorceress with long sword and short sword (dual wielder)
Female human fighter/rogue with bastard sword
Male dwarf fighter/cleric with dwarven battle axe and crossbow

I can't remember all the weapons each character uses, but those are the main ones.

(3.0 Classic campaign)
Human Ranger/Fighter, longsword and shortsword
Halfling Rogue/Fighter, shortsword
Half-Elf Druid, scimitar
Wild Elf Cleric, longbow and battleaxe
Human Sorcerer, quarterstaff

(3.0 Underdark campaign)
Drow Fighter, greatsword and longbow
Drow Ranger, longsword and longbow
Drow Rogue, rapier
Drow Cleric, heavy mace
Drow Wizard, quarterstaff
Drow Sorcerer, longspear

(3.5 Classic campaign)
Dwarf Fighter/Cleric, dwarven waraxe
Half-Elf Druid, wildshape and wand of produce flame
Human Paladin, longsword

1) Human monk; Half-orc fighter; Human sorceress; Gnome sorcerer.

2) Human monk: bare hands only; Half-orc fighter: longsword +3 and Kukri +3 (a special homebrew weapons with powers against undead); Human sorceress: only spells; Gnome sorcerer: mainly spells, and sometimes his +2 dagger.

3) My favorite characters (as a player): a Half-orc fighter/ranger with a battle-axe (he is a woodsman who got to an adventuring life in spite of himself); a munchkin templar-like (fighter-cleric-PrC the latter being overpowered) with a greatsword (2d6 + 15 + 1d6 electricity + 1d6 vs chaos). I also much like my halfling bard-rogue (as a bard he doesn't sing but makes recites poetry, but also makes bad puns, insults, taunts, etc.)

1)
Group A
A human diviner - uses evocations or a non magic crossbow.
An elven Ranger/Blood Archer - a holy bow.
A human Cloistered Cleric/Paladin/Annointed Knight with falchion and animated shield.
A (deceased) dwarven Cleric/Knight of Raziel - a thundering urgosh.

Group B (AU with a huge group)
A human unfettered - rapier and throwing knives.
A human unfettered - bolas, scimitars, battleclaws, clubs and crossbows.
A human akashic - rapier and shortbow
A human magister - magic.
A litorian (cat man) totem warrior - battleclaws, longspear and longbow.
A litorian warmain - greatsword and giant flail.
A sibeccai (dog man) magister/mageblade - magic, staff and battleclaw.
A sibeccai champion - longsword.

I'm a big fan of the sibeccai magister/mageblade character from the AU game - the reincarnation of a long dead evil noblewoman. Fighting style is... odd... but works.

A 3.0 lasher - the player made really good use of those whips.

I also liked a monk from a previous game - who used fists, spring attack and trip - managed to come up with some imaginative stuff.

We have:

Human Wilderness Rogue who uses his short bow and spear most of the time, and his sickle in a pinch.

Human Druid whose uses a crossbow and is also very good at summoning wolves when we need 'em. Before the adventuring began she worked for a lumber company!

Human Ranger who uses bows and swords, and has a charisma of 3!

Human Fighter, knight style with the riding skills and big swords, and who has been brought several hundred years forward in time thanks to a wierd interplaner side adventure.

Dwarf Sorcerer whom we thought until last session was a human (excellent magical disguise with excellent backstory), and who favors using Burning Hands.

Whatever character I'm currently playing is generally my favorite at the time, so that's this Wilderness Rogue and his faux cajun accent. Second is the half-elf wizard who was raised among elves and grew to dislike the whole elven culture - and who wasn't really all that interested in magic (I was preparing for several levels of Racial Paragons, but the campaign ended prematurely :( )
