If or when the site goes down untill your able to resolve the situation with cyberstreet I have 30gig a month of bandwidth going to waste on my personal website over at www.jojostarfinder.net that can be used for everyones forum fix needs and whatever other announcments need be posted while resolving the issue at hand.

I already have a forum setup with some d20 type subforums that dont see much use and it would be easy enough to setup some new categories of forums and subforums for folks, I dont know how far 30gig of bandwidth a month will go to covering the number of forum readers and posters but maybe between my space and someone elses we can feed folks EN fix needs till things get resolved.

anyhow the site is http://www.jojostarfinder.net for folks if or when EN world here goes down while Morrus resolves the situation.

Well, I have already sent in my Community Supporter purchase.

Don't worry Morrus. I've been using EN World for a while. I don't look at it from the perspective of "meaning that you would, sadly have wasted your money." Though, if I had waited a bit longer, perhaps I would have seen a different solution available to get you funds immediately. :(

Even if it takes a while to get EN World back up, consider it my payment to you for my account in arrears. It has certainly been worth it for the time I have already spent on the boards.

I'm in for $50, at least, if I can know where to send it. Anyone live near Morrus who could set up a Paypal account? Heck, what country do you live in Morrus?

We could Western Union the money to you for personal pickup.

Personally I'd be willing to contribute $50. I mean this place is a serious fix for me so its either that or start doing heroin. ;) If there are 31 other peole out there (not that many) with $50 burning a hole in their pocket, your problem is solved. Just need the logistics of collection and delivery.

I can't use PayPal, I'm afraid. I had an account and it was frozen last year (no reason given).

That said, the amount we need is prohibitive; I don't think that a collection is a realistic solution. We're $1600 behind, and the deadline is tomorrow.

Well Russ, you ninny (and I mean that in the second-nicest way possible), there are 8000 people here. I think we can scrounge up 20 cents apiece. Or rather, 800 of us could donate $2. And maybe a few hundred would be indignant about you being unemployed in a poor job economy and asking them to pay for this wonderful site. If you don't have an account, . . . I dunno, we can use that same account we did to pay Piratekitty and you for your trip, and then Kevin or Eric can send along the money to the company.

I've been deluged with emails from people asking how they can donate, and this thread shows that it is something that people seem willing to do.

Problem: as mentioned above, I can't set up a Paypal account. I know that Cyberstreet has a Paypal account, so in order to make this work, this is how I see a plan progressing:

1) Someone other than myself with a Paypal account acts as the central point for donations. I don't mean to be rude, but I'd rather this be someone I know personally. I'm sure you can understand why, and it is not meant as a slight to anyone else.

2) We have about a day to raise $1600. If that amount isn't raised in time, that person would need to return the donations. If we raise more, every penny will still go to Cyberstreet to cover hosting over the next month or so.

How does that sound?

1600 is alot.

It'd be impossible to raise that amount of money overnight (literally). Just logistics for getting that kind of money to Morrus will take a deal of time.

That kind of money isn't impossible to raise, however.

80 donations of 20 dollars would reach it.

I'm a poor college student, so I can't contribute much, but I can easily pay $5-$10. If i would have known about this a day earlier, I would have held of on buying Skull and Bones and sent the money to Morrus

Well, I would be definately in for donating some cash to keep the beloved EN World up... I'd even be willing to ignore my vow to never use Paypal again. Two quick questions though Morrus.

1) If the money isn't received by Cyberstreet today is there a huge reconnect fee to reactivate the account? (Just curious about that, you make it sound like if the deadline is missed that it's not feasible to restore the site).

2) If we donate do we also become Community Supporters (able to use the search function in the forums?)

If the answers are No and Yes, count me in for 100.00$ (Canadian, so sadly that would be something on the order of 2.50$ American :))
