Since Labor Day Weekend, 1976, squire, man and boy, mainly behind the screen.

More game systems than I would care to mention at this point, too. ;)

I started playing in '89 which was shortly after the introduction of AD&D 2nd edition. Many of the people in my play group started with other game systems and didn't even touch D&D until 3rd. I thought I was edging towards grogness. The way this poll is going makes me feel on the younger scale.

clicked the wrong option. I clicked 24 years. It should be 27. Started in 6th grade when I was 11.

Though I took a good long break after 2e and didn't start up again until a couple of years ago.

I find the poll results so far kind of surprising. A relative neophyte at only 10 years I think maybe we need some young blood around here. :)

Started around summer, aught two. Although that's just with publicly sold games (i.e.: D&D) for the masses.

I can remember playing a game my friends an I simply called "Quest" as far back as in 5th grade. If I were to count that, then I really would be 15-16 years. It was a sort of diceless RPG we played. Quest had a Game Master-Player setup and we even used miniatures! I can remember drawing weapons and armor (swords, axes, shields, etc) on a piece of notebook paper as if they were hanging on a wall of a merchant's shop with prices under them.
