D&D 3E/3.5 Epic 3.5 Rules

First Post
Hi all,

I just want to clarify what material from the ELH has been revised in 3.5 products. So far, I am aware of:

DMG 3.5: All of the base classes, plus a smattering of ELH epic feats.
XPSiHB: The Epic Psionic Classes, plus a few more feats, which are largely psionic replications of DMG magic user feats.
ComWar: Some more epic level feats.

I'm guessing that the remaining Hero Series books continue this trend, but confirmation would be appreciated. If so, that would only leave the spell seed system, epic magic items and epic monsters in the ELH. Any other updates I missed?

Thanks,
Shawn

Yeah, the rest of the complete books have epic feats and such. The epic magic items and epic monsters, though, were "updated" in the SRD.

I only own three of the complete books but it seemed like that they didn't have much epic material. A page or two with a few feats and one "example epic PrC".
The new sample classes -may- get epic progressions as well.

Not that its nothing, but I wouldn't want someone to go out and buy those books looking for epic content without a warning.

No problem, Shawn.

And, yes, the Complete books don't have much epic material, but between the four books I think they update the feats that need to be updated (and I think a couple new feats too). The new core classes get epic progressions, I think, but most of the prestige classes never got epic progessions even in 3.0. They give you advice on how to extend those, though.

That is a good point, though. If you want a book that handles Epic levels you're probably not going to find a better WotC book than the Epic Level Handbook, which is 3.0. Some 3rd party material does it pretty well, I think.

Also, I said that some of the stuff was "updated" in the SRD (updated in quotes) because not all of it is a good update. You may have to tweak a bit for proper balance.

There are 3.5 revisions to the ELH, as well as other 3.0 material, that you can get off the WoTC website. There are also 'web enhancements' for 3.5 books that include epic level PrCs - but those are horribly overpowered.

Draconomicon also has some Epic stuff.

It seeme like in 3.5 it's scattered throughout pretty much all the books.
