Epic and BAB/Saves

[Question]

Example : I have a 20th level fighter with a BAB of +20/+15/+10/+5. I then take a level in ranger. Do i get a BAB of +21/+16/+11/+6? Or do i need to follow the epic rules for increasing BAB/Saves past 20th(whic hi thought was only for increasing a class beyond 20th level). What about PRCs?

At 21st level (classes are irrelevant) your character becomes Epic, so yes, you change to the Epic Attack and Save progression, but you still get d8 HP, the feats, the skill points etc.

I lost count of the number of sheets doing it the other way(just adding on the bonuses from the 2nd class)

See attached section from the SRD on epic levels.

An epic character uses the epic progression for saves and BAB. Note it says character and not class.
