Epic Cleric -- Any reason not to take Heirophant?

The heirophant gives up spells but keeps other aspects of spell-casting ability (casting level, etc.). But after 20th level of being a Cleric, you don't get more cleric spells anyhow (barring a special feat which the heirophant would not be denied access to).

So given all the goodies being a heirophant can get one, and the fairly easy prerequisites, is there any reason for a 20th cleric not to take all five levels of heirophant for levels 21-25? Repeated Spell Power alone would make one a 30th level caster at 25th level.

In the end...there is no reason not to take Hierophant for an Epic Cleric. The loss of 1 epic feat does not compare to what you gain after having taking your 5 Hierophant abilities.

Metamagic Feat: A hierophant can choose a metamagic feat in place of one of the special abilities described here if desired.
I don't see why an Epic level Hierophant couldn't take Epic Metamagic Feats, Enhance Spell and Intesify Spell being the only two I see in the ELH.

No one knows if they can or not. The ELH contridicts itself and so do the authors. Personally, the bonus feats are from a specific list, and epic metamagic feats are not metamagic feats in my eyes.

Well now you are splitting hairs....;)

But in my books... the only difference is the fact that [EPIC] is stuck on the back of those meta feat names... which means simply that you have to be above 20th character level.

YMMV
