Epic D&D 3.5: The Eye of Profane Truth [full]

Personally, I'd say the party needs an archer. I'm surprised that I haven't seen any longbow-related twinking, really. If anyone wants to play an archer, go ahead. TWF is fine, too, though I have my reservations about the effectiveness of that path compared to the brute-force two-hander.

As a party, don't go overboard with the fighter builds. It'll be useful sometimes, but usually magic is the order of the day.

I've thought about it, and expanding the party to six people isn't a problem. I'll just throw more monsters at you. So lord_raven and bloodweaver can play, if they like.

Incidentally, I won't be able to post again until Thursday. Got stuff that needs doing...

Whatever you do, try to have your chars ready soon. I'd like to get started.
Hooray I can play :D

Regarding ranged weapons Durkon can hurl boulders 100' with up to 5 range increments, also he has 4 magically shrunk 200 ton boulders he likes to drop on people from great heights (1000d6 + 1d6 per 10 dropped).

Durkon hurls his magical boulder during most battles his favorite tactic is to hurl the boulder and charge drawing his Greatsword as a free action (hurling charge feat)then leaping the last 10 feet (Leaping charge feat) and full power attacking with a massive swing (War Hulk special ability) so that he attacks all squares that he threatens, doing 3d6+102 damage

Sweet!! -
I can attempt to put an archer type build together. I'll have to look at some fighter, ranger, arcane archer, etc builds.

I was looking at the Peerless Archer PrC from the Silver Marshes, is that an acceptable source? ANyone have any other ideas? Was thinking of some kind of Fighter/Order of the bow/deepwood sniper/Peerless archer combo.... no?

No Forgotten Realms, so no Peerless Archer will be your answer, I'm afraid.

I've been relooking over everything, myself, and I think a complete revamp will be necessary. So Gabriel is off. I've hardly sat on my heels, though. In his place:

Nethien tr'Khellan: Drow (LA +2) Fighter 2/Swashbuckler 3/Wizard 12/Spellsword 1/Eldritch Knight 10

I know, just from looking at it, I look like I'm trying to do too much again. But I have the feeling that it might prove necessary to have a full caster (and yes, I can still pull off 28th caster level with that build) as well as someone capable of manning the front lines when all else fails and there are no spells left. I'm still putting him together, but at this point, it's just equipment -- my skill and feat selection are already done, and I'm not going to bother with having a familiar.

Remember Arcane Strike, from Complete Warrior.

Lets you blow a spell slot for +1 to hit and +1d4 damage per level, for one whole round.

With haste and a good BAB, that can translate to a lot of no-save, no SR damage. :)

Hmm. That would be worth ditching Heighten Spell for, since I wasn't entirely happy with that feat selection (despite the potential for further boosting saves -- right now, I'm looking at DCs in the range of 28-36, depending on the spell level). Thank you. :)

BTW -- do you happen to know of any items that could allow me to ignore (or mitigate) the drow's Light Blindness? I think there's an item that might qualify (Goggles of Day, from Libris Mortis), but other potential ideas would be nice, since the Daylight Adaptation feat isn't acceptable.

Very no.

There will be no cheese related to Shrink Object or the falling object rules. It breaks the game.

Ok... I was crunching up some numbers and class for a ranged 'archer' build, and I came up with this.

Human (EW Great Longbow)
Fighter 8 / Exotic Weapon Master 1 / Deepwood sniper 2 / cleric 17 (War & Travel)

The persistant metamagic will be a very used feat.

Thoughts? It is either this build or pure fighter or a pure divine build.
