Epic D&D 3.5: The Eye of Profane Truth [full]

And he is done. Nethien tr'Khaellan is posted on the Rogue's Gallery in place of my original submission, Gabriel.

The final build: Drow (LA +2) Swashbuckler 3/Fighter 2/Wizard 4/Spellsword 1/Eldritch Knight 18

I think he's crunched a LOT better than Gabriel ever was, although my AC and saves aren't as good (no Hexblade 3/Blackguard 3 crunch for me to add my Cha modifier against spells and spell-like effects to saves on top of said Cha modifier already added to saves -- and no monk/ninja to give me my Wis modifier to AC). Still, though, I think this is a fairly solid build -- with Arcane Strike (thanks again, Shayuri) and the burning of an 11th level spell slot (of which I have four), I'm looking at a melee round with average damage in the range of 300 over five attacks.

Feel free to let me know what you think.

Azaar,

You should get rid of improved metamagic since you don't qualify for it (you need four metamagic feats) and you can't use it (the only metamagic feat you have is energy substitution which is +0 and thus uneffected)

Crap... I had four. Guess maybe I shouldn't have bothered with Eschew Materials and Ignore Material Components after all. I'll just tweak it back to what I originally had: Heighten Spell, Energy Substitution (cold), Energy Admixture (cold), and Lord of the Uttercold. I'll tweak that real quick and just forget about having Energy Substitution (acid) and Energy Admixture (acid).

Hey LR,
For your build, I was thinking a 1 lvl dip in barbarian and then a dip into Frenzied Berserker would be a nice added touch to the build. There is a feat out there, I forget the name, that allows you to use your CON modifer for Will saves. Just an idea.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'l look into it.

Can anyone recommend magical items that confer 'freedom of movement', also does anone have suggestions for items to increase saves and/or protections vs energy drain.

Thanks

Quick question. Since warforged is an approved race (as they are listed in the MMIII), would it be possible to take the warforged PrC listed in the Eberron CS? I only ask because its adds flavor to the character concept.

Looking at Barb 1 / Fighter 4 / WF Juggernuat 5 /Berserker 10 / War hulk 10

Juggernuat PrC gives some nice immunities and w/ 10 lvls of Berseker it can frienzy LR's monster as well.

Sorry for taking soo long. :(

LR,

Here are a few observations:

You have no use for an inherent bonus to int, it does not good.

Epic Bonuses are based on HD so you only get +4 Epic to hit and saves (check with Rkhet though, this is a murky subject. My basis for that is in the ELH on pg25)

Taking a level of barbarian would invoke cross class penalties

The Warhulk's reduction of all int, wis and cha based skills makes it so you no longer qualify for the Occult Slayer. In 3.0 would mean you would lose all abilities associated with that prestige class, but I can't find that rule in 3.5 so you may be okay

LR: Mantle of Epic Spell Resistance takes up the same slot as your cloak, so normally you'd have to choose one or the other. However, Complete Arcane has a Vest of Resistance which is exactly like the Cloak of Resistance, just on a different part. Put the vest in your vest slot, and the mantle in your cloak slot, and you'll be fine there. Past that, Stone of Good Luck (Luckstone) will give you +1 luck bonus to saves/ability checks/skill checks, and it's only 20,000 gp.

Otherwise, you don't have many options. It took everything I had to boost the saves on Nethien to their current levels without sacrificing feats to boost them further, and since I went with a more dexterous build in Fighter/Swashbuckler (Insightful Strike is gonna be sweet with that +17 modifier to damage in addition to my Str modifier, and it'll only get larger as time passes), I lost my option for the Hexblade 3/Blackguard 2 cheese for the massive boost to my saves (especially against spells/spell-like effects) like I had with my original submission, Gabriel.

Also, the lavender and green ioun stone is off-limits, according to Rhket's opening post.

Past that, not sure what sort of imput I can give you there.

LR:Wrahn is right about the epic save/bab. +4 it is.

I will allow the occult slayer/warhulk combo, mainly because noncasters are underpowered at lvl 30.

Bloodweaver: you need to submit a char very, very soon. Cleric 17 seems a little unoptimized. You either go pure cleric for the epic feats or get a PrC in. Or maybe ditch it altogether for Ur-priest.

Personally, I'd take levels in Ranger. You get the same bonus feat (weapon style) as fighter, plus you get the Ranger bennies.

Also, Arcane Archer 2 is very nice though you need to be an elf.

Check out Arrow Mind from complete adventurer. Notice how it can be Persisted? Heh.

Re the Berserker build: let's only have one combat brute in the party. Variety is the spice of life, and stuff.

Either way, no Eberron PrCs. No non-listed stuff whatsoever. Stop asking!
