LR:Wrahn is right about the epic save/bab. +4 it is.

I will allow the occult slayer/warhulk combo, mainly because noncasters are underpowered at lvl 30.
Hey :] I resemble that remark :p

Thanks for clarifying the epic save/bab, this will save me a lot of work doing a new character, saing this I was seriously looking into an Ultraloth Blackguard build! but I'm happy to stick with what I have.

I have a question then, when does a character become epic, do they become Epic when there ECL is 20+ or do they become Epic when they have over 20 HD?

ELH on page 25 basically says that you qualify for epic feats at ECL 21 (class level + racial HD + LA) and start epic save and BAB progression at HD 21 (class level + racial HD). There are other interpretations.

If you become Epic at ECL 21 then shouldn't Durkon have the BAB and saves of an ECL 30 character?

If it's the other way (Epic at 20HD) then Durkon would have better non-epic saves and BAB, as they'd improve normally up to 20 HD.

Personally I think a character should become Epic when they have 20 HD, at least that's how they do it with creatures form the monster manual (i.e Ultraloth from MM3), actually now that I think of it the MM's tend to ignore the Epic rules and treat them as non-epic characters.

Creatures and characters follow different rules.

Creatures with no class levels NEVER get epic bonuses. Their abilities improve at the normal rate forever.

Creatures can take Epic feats when their CR is over 20, and only from the 21st HD onwards.

The reason MM epic monsters such as the Solar doesn't have epic feats is to cut down on the books required to play. For mechanical purposes, I suppose you could say that the Solar opted for a non-epic feat in his epic slot.

Characters are subject to epic BAB/epic saving throws when they reach 20 HD. Before this BAB/saves are calculated normally, regardless of ECL.

The ELH is unclear on this, but I am going to rule that characters with LA cannot take epic feats before the 21st HD. This way ECL has no effect whatsoever on Epic goodies. Should save a bit of headache.

Yay, that means I'm good to go. That had been my general assumption when I did Gabriel up the first time, then switched to Nethien. I just took epic feats when I was able to take them.

So, when do we plan to start? I'm eager to get going. :)

Bloodweaver: you need to submit a char very, very soon. Cleric 17 seems a little unoptimized. You either go pure cleric for the epic feats or get a PrC in. Or maybe ditch it altogether for Ur-priest.

Personally, I'd take levels in Ranger. You get the same bonus feat (weapon style) as fighter, plus you get the Ranger bennies.

Also, Arcane Archer 2 is very nice though you need to be an elf.

Check out Arrow Mind from complete adventurer. Notice how it can be Persisted? Heh.

Re the Berserker build: let's only have one combat brute in the party. Variety is the spice of life, and stuff.

Either way, no Eberron PrCs. No non-listed stuff whatsoever. Stop asking!

Copy that. Should have something within 24 hrs.

I take it everyone else has been examined is good to go?

It is hard to make a comment without seeing the build. You have given only the largest of overviews and without seeing what you are intending on the specific, it is hard to give advice about efficiencies.

Well, no.

I was translating this long-winded piece of text these past few days. I expect to be done by tomorrow. The day after I'll take a look at the chars. Hopefully the cleanup won't take too long.
