A couple of suggestions:

Dwarf Paladin9/Templar1/Defender15 = Uberbrick (great against a Hunefer too)

Half-Orc Fighter6/Barbarian5/Tribal Protector2/Frenzied Berzerker10/Legendary Juggernaut 2 = Death Machine

Also, pick up the Greater Vestments of Power from Magic of Faerun. Read it. It's beastly.

Also, don't forget to bring along a Bracelet of Friends. It's a lifesaver when you need it.

Ways I've seen it used:

-Summon a Solar ally
-Get a mage out of a grapple by an Advanced Half-Red Dragon Dire Bear
-Get your cleric next to you from the other side of the battle to heal you
-Let the rogue sneak into the fortress, then bring the party in without a peep
-Save the captured princess

Don't EVER underestimate that item.

Jeremy's right about straight fighters, at 25 two more feats than joe blow doesn't cut it. At 30th when it's 5!! more feats, people start to fear you.

For an alternate Barbarian type
1 Barbarian/5 fighter BAB class/8 Bear warrior/5 Frenzied at 19th
Extra levels in Bear Warrior if you can convince the DM that you "deserve" to be a Legendary Bear at 12th, or Frienzied if you can't :)
With the level you are starting, you can afford the equipment this set up needs, as extra money goins to Wildling clasping every thing and Greater Magic Fang'ing yourself. Opposable Huge Greatsword time!
Feat Notes: Forced to take Power Attack (noooooo)
Instanteous Rage is a must (full round action shapechage bad)
DC on Devastating Critical is much nicer with a 60 strength. If your group allows magic items and other temporary enhances to be used to qualify for feats, then you can lowball Con and still take DR and Fast Healing and only get the benefit while raging.

edit: Frenzied is a 6 BAB class, not 5

Conan -- 25th level Barbarian

Below is a link to my version of Conan, a 25th level Barbarian.

http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/hosted/adilbrand/conan/conan25a.htm

I built him without magic items or magically enhanced abilities, so of course, your version would be more powerful.

He qualifies for the Legendary Dreadnought Epic PRC on his very next level. So, my plan was Barbarian 25, then Legendary Dreadnought the rest of the way.

I'd take him against any of ther other suggested class combos. And the nice thing about him, is that he is going to ROCK in all the magic dead areas and anti-magic fields.

From a min-max perspective, you might want to make some minor tweaks. I gave him the Track feat instead of Power Critical. So, if you are playing Hack + Slash, you would want to drop Track and give him Power Critical. You might also change his Long Sword feats to Great Sword or Great Axe. You might also want to pump up some of his more useful skill ranks and reduce some of his least useful skills.

Go druid and get some wild shapping going on. Not sure if you could get Dragon shape in time for 25th level, but if you could, you'd have 2 dragons in your party and access to druid spells.

Actually, a combat druid can have access to Primal Elemental forms by 25th. *shudders*

Legendary Dreadnought

Jeremy,

No matter what class(es) you choose for the first twenty five levels, if you are going to be a fighter, I think you need to go with Legendary Dreadnought for level 26 +.

You can't get into Legendary Dreadnought before level 26 (mininum BAB +23 means 20 BAB +1 non-epic levels and 5 epic levels).

The key reason to do Legendary Dreadnought are the Unstoppable and Unmovable abilities. Those abilities allow you to defeat spell effects that don't allow saving throws. Against non-magical opponents, they can also help you in combat.

The DR and the extra hit points are just gravy on top of the most powerful fighter-type class abilities ever designed.

This is mainly a test game so are going to be doing combat trials and problem solving trials that involves a lot of class ability and spell effect mechanics. I don't think it is meant to level us, but I'll definately look at that class. Thanks!

The Conan build is very fun too by the way! :)

Gnome Power!

I haven't really written all of this out but what about a

Gnome
10 - Fighter
15 Dragon Disciple

Use the feat from the Forgotten Realms book to get the ranks in Knowledge Arcana and the 0 level cantrips to qualify for the arcane spells without prep. You have several fighter levels to offset the loss of a feat.

That will give you a +6 net strength, +4 con and I think + 2 dex but it could be +4. PLus the 5 from levels and you are already at least at 29 strength. Thats with a 16 starting strength.

Get yourself a vibrant purple ioun stone for either Anti-Magic field or 4 shields and 2 True Strikes.

I think this guy might be fun to play. Haven't really worked him all out though.

********

Of course the Half-Orc spiked chain Sorc 1, fighter 9, DD 15 would be fun as well. You could even take out the several fighter levels and get another prestige class as well

Edit: Realized you have to be level 20 before you can take epic Dragon disciple levels.

I would suggest getting a back up weapon that is a +5 brilliant energy weapon. Being able to cut out armour and natural armour bonuses at epic can make all the difference between being an effective fighter and a useless fighter.

I know that someone mentioned deep impact, but you may need all the PsP's you can get...
