Epic Levels that work in any campaign

The material presented in the ELH only works for high magic games so here is what I've come up with for my low magic game, any thoughts?

Level 20 is the highest level that can be reached in any class, but not as a character. You can take prestige classes or secondary classes to go beyond that. Multiclassing rules would ignore any class that has reached level 20. The leveling chart in the PHB is set up so that the forumla is 1 * 1000 + 2 * 1000 + ... + N * 1000 where N = your current level xp is needed to achieve a new level. You can easily shortcut this by takeing X + (N*1000) = xp needed to level. where X = xp needed for current level and N = your current level.

So when 20th level is reached in any give class you simple multiclass or PrC.

For a low magic game?

Well, with your system, the fighters will be packing on the BAB, and the number of iterative will be enormous.

(Fighter 20/ Ranger 20 / Paladin 20 = BAB +60/+55/+50/+45/+40/+35/...

And as for XP... that is exactly how it is done already.

I don't see that you'll be getting "less magic".

There really is no point for a 25th level character to purchase epic level items; They are too expensive, and the gain being minimal compared to the non-Epic stuff.

Have you read ELH?

Have you nerfed Wizards and Clerics?

If I am playing low magic wouldn't it stand to reason that I am using alternate magic rules. Yes magic is limited including magic cast by players.

Yes I have read the ELH and I didn't much care for it.

You make a valid point about the BaB, I'll have to check into altering that.
