Epic spell seed question

Have any of you guys looked at the epic spell seed: Mythal from "Lost Empiresof Faerun"? Is it allowable to change the area to target (as an Epic Spell Factor)? If so, then one could construct a "Personal Mythal".

I know that this is supposed to be epic, but it could get very seriously out of hand.
Any thoughts?

Mithral's Ward on steroids; it's overpowered compared to the "standard" epic seeds.

I haven't seen the seed in question, so take this with a grain of salt.

You may be able to balance the seed by modifying the base spellcraft DC for it.

Also, if it's actually MORE beneficial to have it self only (I don't know what it does), then reverse the direction of the mitigating factor to modify it in that manner.
