Eric Noah, stay out of this thread. Everybody else, hop on in.

Eric was a guy whose opinions were much like my own when we, along with many others, began to discuss and hypothsize the upcoming 3rd Edition of D&D back in the old Wizards newsgroups in '99. When he announced there that he had created a website dedicated to news about 3E, I was instantly hooked.

Since then, I've come here nearly every day, and often much more than daily, to check news and read and discuss RPGs with others. This site is easily the greatest web-based D&D resource. Thanks, Eric, for creating this site, you rock! (and so does Russ and everyone else involved in ENWorld, of course!)

Back in the early 90s I was keen in the BBSing scene. I even ran one for a few years. Message boards were where my like-minded idiot friends wasted all our time together, when we couldn't actually get together. With the rise of the hated Internet, I lamented the loss of that unique style of community.

A couple of years ago a distant acquaintance pointed me toward ENWorld to resolve some obscure monk-shuriken rule issue. Since then I have become gradually more involved and really found a home base of sorts: like-minded idiots who waste our time together without being able to get together. ENWorld isn't one of the drug-addled BBSes of yore, but hey it's the best we can do.

Thanks for creating such a fantastic site!

ENWorld is simply the catalyst for me playing D&D and roleplaying. I was always interested in them but never knew much about them and too intimidated to start DMing. A friend recommended me to this site a year or two ago and here I am. ENworld helped me become the DM I am today and I don't know what I would do without this wonderful community. Always glad to help a newbie into the hobby. I can honestly say that I made some good friends because of it.

Thank you Mr Noah.

ENWorld is a place where I can go for advice, discussion, and friendly banter about my favorite past time. On top of all that it is a place I can walk away from when life gets in the way of fun and when I come back everyone welcomes me, and no one even asks for explainations on where I've been. All in all it is the on-line place that I call home.

ENWorld for me is the centre of the online COMMUNITY of D20 roleplaying. Whenever I want to become immersed in everything that is D20, I can be guaranteed that ENWorld will deliver. Eric, you should be proud to know that it was your hand that got the dice first rolling in building momentum to make ENWorld the online Mecca for gamers the world over. Thank you for that.

ENWorld is the place I come to learn what is happening in the D&D/d20 world - new products, rumored products, interaction with actual game company employees, and what site's are worthwhile. The reviews are nice, and the Online Toolbox has saved my rear a couple of times. I think I learned more about D&D3x, and in a shorter time, than I ever did about 1e and 2e. And though he's since stepped down from the stage, it's all Eric's doing. He created it, inspired it, and nurtured it, and there's really no way I (or the community) will ever actually be able to fully repay our debts to him.

So, Eric, stand up and take a bow. SALUTE! If your blessings received are a tenth of what you've given, you're richer than Gates in all the ways that count.

Back when it all started, before 3E came out, I used to tell my friends about what I read here so often that they started a phrase about it: "This one time, in third edition..." (Instead of band camp!)

I remember searching for news on the internet for this new 3rd Edition D&D I had heard about. I found this site with all kinds of stuff; I remember that the first day I came here the information about elven chain had just been posted. It was great.

ENWorld was the first online community I ever joined. For over 6 years, starting back with the very first boards, I've been here almost every day, at first just to read about D&D news, but now it's more to read the thoughts and feelings of people I've long since started thinking of as friends. I've lost friends and made friends since I first joined this great group of people, but the EN family has been a constant. Thanks Eric. You did a great job.

I only wish I would have used more imagination with my screen name, but hey, it was my first time!

ENWorld is a community. I am proud to be a part of this community. Our community will shape the future of role-playing gaming, and our ideas know no bounds. To me ENWorld is anticipation, fulfillment, and sharing.

Hats off to you, Sir!

Merry Christmas, Eric Noah!

I don't know how to quantify what ENworld means to me.

I have met my last 3 gaming groups through EN's "Gamers Seeking Gamers". I spend quite abit of time daily just reading the boards. If I have a rules question, I come here before I consider the WotC site... normally asking for Hypersmurf. hehe.

Well, to wrap this up... thanks for making it happen Mr Noah. And thanks to my friend OJ <talath> for introducing me to the site.
