Essentials at Gencon Dungeon Delve

Thanks for posting these, I love the Ye Olde Schoole format of the sheets. Since WotC is on a nostalgia kick I hope they release some Ye Olde Schoole black and white artwork once the Red Box is unleashed. I really like most of the modern D&D artwork but some Larry Elmore line drawings would make for some cool visual flavor.

Nice! Can you do the same for the Rogues?

The rogues each have +1 to hit and damage I can't account for. That might be Thief Weapon Talent, which they get at 2nd level according to here. It doesn't appear to be weapon focus or expertise since it applies to both of the elf's attacks. Also neither has an extra ability like those that appear to be attached to different weapon expertise feats now.

Weapon finesse we know from Thalmin's thread is:
1 to attack and damage to light blades, light crossbows, short bows, and slings.

Their attack bonuses break down to:
+1 Level
+4 Dex
+1 Weapon Finesse
+2 or 3 Prof (bow/short sword and dagger)
+1 mystery (thief weapon talent or expertise)
=+9 or 10

The two real mysteries are the +1 damage on the halfling's sneak attack and why there's no evidence of a second feat on any of the characters (who should all have one at 2nd level, three for the humans).

Again, these things could just be errors too.

Seems as if fighter stances are only working on melee now. Slayer bonus however seems to carry over to ranged attacks too. Seems ok.

Since they are level 2, the human seems to lack a feat.

Also, could it be possible, that preview copies of redbox were still draft versions? the rogues seem to be completely different from those of Thalmins thread. Magic missile however seems to be 1 or 2 targets on those sheets. Strange this is.

I'm pretty convinced that they were making a Dwarf Knight... then someone went 'You know, this whole pseudomarked defender thing is more complicated than we want to deal with for the Learn to Play, make him simpler' and so they made him a Slayer. With 12 Dex...
