Etools: How would you add Zen Archery

I'm guessing that is a Feat from Oriental Adventures? (Don't have that book.)

If so, go to the House Rules part of E-Tools. Select the Feats Frame. Select a feat that may be close to Zen Archery (but any will do...) and Push the New button. Change the Name, Description, stats, etc. as desired.

While i do not know the particulars of Feats yet, it is my understanding that you can get some extra functionality out of them by going into Access. What this extra functionality is, I do not yet know. =)

I wasn't looking carefully, but were the Monster feats from S&F in that download (Large and in Charge is one if I recall correctly)?

I found it. Page 61!

I will add it tomorrow along with Multitasking.

(My wife wants me to come to bed, so I am going to bed now.)

Have fun! :)

One last thing -
Eric, do you know if setting the Feat type as Monster allows you to do anything special with it?

Can you then limit a feat by size?

I haven't seen anything in the database to show it to do anything.

In fact I have made a Wild category for the Wild Shape Feats from MotW.

Night!

but how do you add it?

How do do it myself? The thing with Zen Archery is that with bows, I can replace the to hit with my wisdom bonus instead of my dex bonus. I don't know how to do that part.

That part is an in game or triggered effect.

eTools does not make those changes. So it will not reflect using your wisdom bonus rather than the dex bonus.

So one way to fix it is by pencil after you print your sheet. :D

The other way is to print, then select cancel.
Then right click in a open spot on the sheet and view source. This opens it up in notepad. Find the section on bow and change it there. Save the file.

Then it will return you to the character sheet. Press F5 and it will display your changes. Press Ctrl-P to print.

Hi, All!

Two quick points...

1. "Large and in Charge" feat is listed (in the first printing) as a General feat, not a Monster feat.

2. Just to clarify Therigwin's point, eTools does not allow the kind of change that the Zen Archery feat makes. Zen Archery is an "in-game only" effect. It only applies when your target is within 30 feet. As such, it should not (and cannot) automatically change all of your bow attack bonuses.

Now, creating a feat of your own (say, Improved Zen Archery or something) that permanently grants your Wisdom bonus to all attacks with your bow may be possible, but it would be a bit more difficult. I'd say the place to start is by examining a feat like Weapon Focus that grants a bonus to attack rolls with a particular weapon. I've taken an initial look and it appears that the Weapon Focus bonus may be hard coded. Perhaps some folks with more Access experience than I possess will be able to shed some light on it. This sounds like a good question for Fluid, once their site gets back up.

Cheers!
