Even Newer Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

"Knowing they are in Arcadia is like saying they are somewhere on Kythira or Sultyr - we need more information. Where is that blasted deva when you need someone to read you runes!" - Rocco's voice starts to sound like he rages again, but just as quickly drops down - "Hm, anyone, could you, based on the description of the runes and events make an educated guess where to start? And you, Nementah, is there a way to find them, ask the trees or something, once we're in feywild?"

OOC: Rocco is no good with either nature or magic, but once on the trail he can follow it - just point him in general direction first (and that takes smarts)

-''It's true that arcadia is big... but at the same time, a magic man of my acquaintance says it's like a big village. The feylords keep much closer tabs on each other than we mortals. I am sure that if you get in the feywild, spot a not too agressive feylord, bargain a reasonable price for a finder's fee - it'll probably be some kind of service rendered - they can point you in the right direction. Remember the eagle-like symbol. I bet it's important.

I know, I know. Dealing with fey lords isn't an attractive proposition. So rest assured you will be richly rewarded by the city of Daunton if you find my missing boys!''

[sblock=OOC]'Richly rewarding' is proportionate to the total of XP earned during the adventure minus whatever loot I leave lying around during the adventure! So I can't be too specific just yet since I improvise a lot.

But I will daresay I have one of the very best track record of giving the PCs the appropriate amount of wealth for their level. Almost to the gold piece! So don't worry about it.[/sblock]

[sblock=Roster]
Rocco (tempest fighter) - Neurotic
Abigail (Swordmage) - Wik
Renquist (Paladin) - Fourmonos
Dante (Ranger) - Iron Sky
Nemantah (Shaman) - Metavoid

Tough melee party.

"Umm, well, we are from feywild, but Nementah knows only from the stories of her elders how that is. She...I'm from The Living Isle from near The Rift. But you could say we're one with the forest and I can navigate feywilds."

[sblock=ooc] Well, I don't know if there is room, but I know Modest was trying to get his bard, Ibram, ready for this adventure too. His attack bonus benefits would make this melee heavy group go through the bad guys like a lawn mower. How many are you planning on taking Mal? [/sblock]

The door begins to open, and then stops. Some muttering can be heard from the other side, before it continues opening, shyly.
A woman and a man enter the tavern. The woman sports a poor and dirty dress, and the man is dressed slightly better, although it’s clear that he spent most of his life on heavy handwork. The woman is around her 40s and is rather attractive for a human of her age and status. The man is well beyond his 50s, and is clearly wear out. He holds the woman from the shoulders, as she is sobbing slightly. He pats her gently as they walk inside the tavern. The pair approach the bar, and ask the barkeeper something. The bartender explains them how to proceed and so the man turns to face the patrons assembled there. He clears his throat and speaks.
“Goo’day to ye lords ‘n ladies. M’name’s George Simpletown, I own a clay gathering establishment ‘ere ‘n Dauton.” Upon the mention of the clay establishment, the woman broke in cries. The man hurried to comfort her, patting her shoulder.
“Ye see, we seek help fer this fine lady, Miss Linda Tine. We beg ye to help these poor peasants to make justice and save Miss Tine’s husband. We… We’ll be waitin’ on tha’ table if a carin’ soul wish to help.” With that Mr Simpletown lead Miss Tine to a lateral table, and both sat there. Mr Simpletown tried to calm Linda, and apparently succeed, although she kept sobbing.

OOC: Recruiting 5 players, levels above 4th, mostly of good alignment, as an evil character would have no wishes to help poor people.

OOC: Just AutoQuoting if there are any other PC around...

[sblock=OOC upcoming adventure recruitment]
Hey all,

Just wanted to give a heads up that I have submitted the next chapter in the Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks adventure and I may have a few openings. I have a commitment from 4 of the 5 current characters that they will continue on. Openings could be possibly for a leader, and perhaps a sixth character is there are suitable characters looking for an adventure. Character level would be level 2, but I can adjust for a level either way or for a 6th character if necessary.

The current adventure should wrap up within a week or two and any possible recruitment could happen shortly after.

I am not sure who is in the tavern right now who would fit, but thought it would be good to post a heads up here anyway.

If you think they are in Arcadia, the tree lady is right, it connects near daunton in a few place. I heard it currently does so so right the Five's Memorial park, pretty much in the center of the city. It's causing the warden no end of trouble!''[/COLOR]

"Perhaps these ones should go to this Five's Memorial Park and speak to this warden. If Arcadia meets Daunton, would make a start for these ones to find the umbara'savok."

Abigail nods at Dante's words, and then lets out a long sigh. "I guess this means we're off again, eh?"

Azuras lets out a feretty squeal and flaps around on his draconic wings, never actually lifting off the floor. Abigail just looks at him plainly. "No. You're not eating any fey creatures."

The dragonling slumps down, depressed.

Y'know, 3 defenders, 1 striker, and 1 leader is kind of crazy. If someone wants to take Abby's place, she can always move on to another adventure. Of course, two of those defenders (abby and the tempest fighter) are pretty striker-y, so who knows?

Also, Abby has a few controller-ish powers.[/sblock]
