Ya, I rarely watch news on TV anymore. I get most of my news from the internet. AOL has a nice news section, can even look up news by region or country. Find out a lot of stuff that is not found newsworthy by the networks.

Some news the networks don't want you to hear: The number of viewers watching the big three **has** been steadily declining. I suppose no one's called a boycott because we're already winning!

It's no different than the Cola Wars. We seek to defend our purchasing and affiliation decisions because we attach way too much of our self-identity to outside parameters.

"I've chosen this game/cola/monster truck/etc. It is therefore the best one out there, as I am a being of good taste. Those that chose some other type clearly have inferior taste, derived from their inferior intellects, grooming habits, and moral fiber."

"Indeed, my purchasing decision can be extrapolated to show that I am a man whose intellect and good taste are only surpassed by the incredible size of my reproductive member..."

It's been my suggestion all along that the Democrats and Republicans just get it over with and get stickers of Calvin urinating on a donkey or elephant. It'll help them get the crucial redneck vote, at least.

Okay, sorry to play the simpleton here, but .. uh.. I don't get it.

What are you saying, Theuderic?
He's followed my posts with that comment on two threads now. And I'm pretty sure it's directed at me, as in the other thread we were basically having a one-to-one conversation. I think he might just be doing it to weird me out.

Hey, Meepo- ix-nay on the olitics-pay. Darkness has already given us the evil eye once. :D

With all due respect to Shawn Woolley's families and friends and others who are addicted to the game, you cannot blame the game. As much as we find these games or any form of entertainment as a way to escape reality, it is only meant for leisure.

As much as you would despise me for saying it, it is possible that those who are addicted to things as videogames is having problems dealing with the real world. So they escape from it and if possible forever.

Don't enable the person to deal with it himself. Force the guy to deal with his problem. Get him away from the game by getting him involved in social events from a family dinner or dating. As great as the PC and internet is, it never replace face-to-face social interaction. It's human nature. Mr. Woolley has deprived himself of that.

I can't believe it. Ben Stein's son saying, " uh huh ya I was addicted." That was so funny. And Ben Stein sitting there saying " He exhibited symtoms of drug abuse, it was as if there was a demon inside of him, he became withdrawn....." I lost it when he said that.:D

On the brighter side...

The most recent player to join our D&D gaming group did so because she couldn't stand to play Everquest anymore.
