EWP Bastard Sword (silly)

I have a hard time with this... if the wizard really wants the Bastard Sword one handed, just take a level of fighter at third level instead of that third level of wizard! He'll get some needed HP, an extra BAB, all martial weapons, some needed bonus Fort Save, and then, he can spend his bonus fighter feat on the EWP for the one-handed bastard sword, and use that 3rd level character feat for something more... wizardly. Sure, he'll put off 2nd level spells for another level, but if he's considering being more melee resistant, then he should be willing to make the trade in a modicum of spell power for it.

That is a fine house rule. But the rules as wriiten do not require Martial Weapon Proficiency as a prerequisite for Exotic Weapon Proficiency.

I agree with the origional post by Corwin as well as this post. I doubt that very meny people are not using at least some house rules and this one seems fair to everyone.
