Agreed. But is there anything to say for expediency? While INTx10=/=IQ, it is a very quick and dirty, and more or less accurate, way to approximate the mental capacity of a PC (or NPC). Besides, Arrivis is asking for some RP advice, and an easy way to set up some guidelines is to do INTx10. Guidelines which, unless you work in statistics, are complicated to derrive using the IQ bell curve.posted by Al
Int is not IQ/10 ... The fact is that the bell curve of Int does not and cannot map onto the bell curve of IQ. Int 7 is probably far better equated to around an IQ in the low 80s or perhaps high 70s. But Int is emphatically not simply IQ/10.
