Physical Description

Fifth Bodhisattva definetly has the look of one that has spent altogether too long in the Wyld. Overgrown dreadlocks are decorated with pieces of gems and crystals, cloth of strange colors and even pieces of bone. His beard is made into multiple fine braids, each ending in a crystal of different color. It is unsure if the glass is part of Fifth himself or if he's just tied it very well to his hair. He certainly doesn't remember doing it, but he doesn't remember many things. His tanned and weathered face is actually that of a rather handsome man, but the view is rapidly captured by his eyes. His irises look transparent and, in a certain light, even faceted like two emeralds. He has no pupils, although his sight doesn't seem affected. The overall effect cannot be said to be handsome, but its certainly enchanting. Fifth Bodhisattva has the looks of a man who walks amongst spirits with greater ease than he walks among men, that treads safer in the wilderness than in civilized lands. He has the attraction of the forbidden, of the unknown, of danger, and the respect of those that walk outside the borders of the world.

He usually dresses in worn and torn black and grey robes, which seem to have been broken and sewed together again so many times that they are almost just a mass of sewing thread, decorated by more crystals, which hang from miscellaneous threads and jingle slightly as he walks. Or rides, because he's always accompanied by Bloodfeather, the mostmalicious and bloodthirsty Austrech any sane person has ever seen. Both its feathers and its eyes are dark crimson, as if it had bathed in human blood, and it looks at everyone, even at its master, as if it wanted nothing better than to tear their hearts out and eat them. It obeys Fifth, though, because of a pact made long ago, and won't attack anyone but his enemies.

Maybe that makes a bit too much 1s.

I wanted him to make him a bit asocial, that's why he had no friend at the House of Ancient Stone. So giving 2 in Cha and Man would not reflect that, but two 1s might be an overkilling. I think I'll raise his Man to 2 and reduce his App to 4. He is still a great looking man (that's why Urono liked him), but he won't be very friednly, and people, knowing he can be sometimes cunning might not like much him...

Compassion 1, I must tell I have no reason for it, except that as many noble, he might have been a bit too centered on himself. I could easily put it to 2. But Conviction 1 is part of teh character. When you were a fervant believer of the Wyld Hunt and one day, you awaken as one of the creature you were hunting, it put down all the basis of his belief. It's part of his sacrifice and need to rebuild it.

I'll think about his Intimacies. I was not even aware that Exalted had merit and flaw...

Very Cool. I am a bit confused about your character sheet. Which ones are you Favored Abilities, it doesn’t really say. There are some I can easily figure out, but others could be one or another.

According to the book you have to have any Presence Excel and Majestic Radiant Presence to get Friendship with Animals. That seems a bit much, but then it’s a powerful Charm if all you needed was Survival 1, Essence 2.

Also which Flaw are you taking for Seven Shadow Evasion?

I didn’t do all the math, but the points seem right to me. They all went into Abilities and Specialties correct?

Not sure if everything in your backstory could happen without killing or radically messing him up, but I loved the narrative. Perhaps some Fair Folk protected him from the harmful effects of the Wyld. Just don’t go back anytime soonish. Without Wyld protection Charms, you wouldn’t enjoy it a second time.

And I really like what you did with Jade and Copper Leaf Inauspicious. That’s great. It’ll be interesting to see what we can up with for her. I love the Sidereals. If you don’t mind I’ll start working some stuff out for her background, including which Faction she belongs to. At this point let’s say that she hasn’t into that much detail about her people.[/sblock]

You can keep your stats where they are, I'm not trying to get you to change them, just pointing out the difficulties. Merits and Flaws were introduces in the Exalted Player's Guide. The book is designed for Heroic Mortals, but the Merits and Flaws work for everyone. You don't need them to make a really impressive character, but they exist.[/sblock]

[sblock=Dogma] I sent you an email today, I hope i sent it to the correct address, or some poor fellow just learned more about my geekiness than they ever needed to.[/sblock]

I just made this character up on the spot. I tend to have all these little fellas living in my head for some odd reason. Well, no worries about the followers bit, cos this Zenith is a loner. Not looking for followers, and all previous ones are ... well they may make a re-appearance as zombies, but that's as far as they go.

I'll work on the long speech from the UCS in a moment. Skies is on top of a mountain to basically hear. I've attached the char sheet, so things make a little more sense.

******

Righto then, on to our Fire-Aspected DB. Said DB is a mercernary, once upon a time from Lookshy, currently under the employ of one of the more influential merchant houses in the region. Their youngest son was being secretly sent out of the kingdom for his own safety, because the house was waging a silent war against another, and their father knew he didnt have the stomach for it, and was thus a prime target for the other side. He's dead now, and the DB, who was hired as the house's dead enforcer, sees it as a slap in his face. So while he thinks that our dear Skies is going to die in the forest, nasty place that it is, he played it safe an reported his description to his employer. So now, Skies is a wanted criminal throughout the area. Its not a very precise description, since Skies has done things like lost some weight and shaved his head since that one encounter, but having one eye is rather outstanding.

The Air-Aspected DB with him is his sworn brother. They work together.

*****
Now on to the guy on the mountain.

The air was fresh, crisp and clean. There was a gentle breeze about, causing the granules of sand on the ground to swirl gently. It was a cloudless day, though the morning mists shrouded the mountain peaks like a glorious gossamer raiment. The gentle streams of first light gently caressed his face, as the tranquility without helped him find a calm within, to seek the Voice which had reverberated within his very soul. He waited.

The morning mists thinned and dissipated. The breezes gave way to a still calm. Warmth from the sun bathed the peak, and beads of sweat formed on his skin. The heat seemed to diffuse through his very essence, reaching into the depths of his being, stoking an unquenchable fire in his soul. And he waited.

Slowly, an image began to form in his mind. Like the mists retreating from the mountain peak to reveal its glory, the veils were slowly lifted from his mind, and he saw the figure of a man, unlike any other man. A glorious nimbus of sunlight surrounded him, making his features too bright to be discerned. Held in one hand, balanced upon his shoulder, was a sword that seemingly dwarfed even this mountain. And the sword gleamed like its wielder, like the sun itself. He understood then. The Unconquered Sun. In Him was perfection, and from Him came perfection.

The words came easily to his lips. "Master..."

A gentle hand was raised to silence him. "In truth, my son, what canst thou do for me?" The question answered before it was asked, and a truly humbling answer it was.

"I require neither thine rituals or thine worship. Obey My Voice." Skies inclined his head.

"This is my commandment unto thee. Learn thine art, and master it. With it thou shalt express might, even Mine own, unto those who wilt reject thee. For him who rejecteth thee, denieth Me. Tend to them that hath been made low by tyranny, care for them that are uncared for. Give to the poor, and extend thine helping hand to him who is in need. By this they shalt know Mine compassion. Heal this land, restore it to its former glory, for it shalt again reflect the light of Mine glory. Now descend this mountain, for thy time here draws nigh to a close. Thy companions await thee upon the lowlands. Go."

Then the light dimmed and faded, and his Master gone with it. Skies slowly got to his feet, stretching out the kinks in his limbs. He had been seated for seven days and seven nights, with neither food nor water. After eating and drinking, he set foot down the mountain.

*****
So thats that for Skies, till the adventures begin. Incidentally, in the char sheet, I've taken an extra 2 pt flaw and spent the 2 pts like regular bonus points. Is that ok with ya?

Looks good thus far, still need to look at it carefully. The extra Flaw points as Bonus Points works fine.

But now i must sleep.

tired.

The Favored Attributes are the ones with the asterisk before them... eh, now corrected, because I hadn't noticed them. Sorry. And yes, all BPs went into Abilities, sadly enough, but I had to represent a pretty experienced character.

Also, he hasn't been totally immune from the Wyld, he has the Amnesia Deficiency (or maybe Debility), all events before his Exaltation are very blurry, dream-like and unsure in his memory, his eyes have no pupils and his irises look like emeralds (hadn't put a Physical description up yet), and he had the Longevity Pox before he Exalted and it became redundant (which is why he didnt age much). Most of the protection came from his Heroic Mortal status and the fact that he was Assimilated. In case you don't have BoCD:The Wyld, Wyld Assimilation is when someone becomes the living embodiment of an archetype in the Wyld, and so he becomes inmune to its warping effects. Exaltation freed him from the strictures of being a Heroic Outcast, but he doesn't have protection from the Wyld anymore. Plus, all sorts of things could've happened when he was in the Wyld that he doesn't remember. Feel free to be evil.

As for Charms, the Perfect Defense will ahve the Conviction Flaw (makes sense), and.. .damn, I never realized that Friendship-with-animals had that prerequisite... and ESSENCE 3 prerequisite at that. Oh, well, I'll take Hardship-Surviving Mendicant Spirit instead.

Figgin'

I received your email. I haven't had a chance to read it in detail, but hopefully I'll be able to today and start to come up with a background. I'll most likely use Kade's as a template and just change a few details since I'm not very familiar with the setting still. I'm going to go ahead and order a .pdf version of the manual since it's only $15. I'll try not to hold things up for too long.

No, I think it is for the best. As you told, you would expect to have some very poor in a domain with a 1. Charisma (no friends at the House of Ancient Stone) and the Conviction (All his belief being put in doubt because of his Exaltation) make a lot of sense. but I havn't show any sign of stone heart (compassion 1) or not being manipulative... at the opposite, he has tried to manipulate Uruno (and without success, so no high Man).

Shayuri: Night Caste He said it wouldn’t be until the end of this week before he could start work on this.

Velmont: Spider: Twilight Caste: I think you’re good to go. I’m going to start working on some more Prelude stuff for you. I’ll try to get to that later on today.

Dogmatic: Kade (are you keeping this name?): Dawn Caste: Okay I’ve been looking over your character sheet and I’ve realized that the Dawn is far less powerful than some of our other characters. He does have a kicking Combo, which is nice, but his lack of Artifacts makes him a little lesser. Then I reread the adventure he is attached to and remembered that all the players gain Artifacts in game, so none of them had any to begin with. So one option is to redo his Backgrounds, and the other is to keep him as is and introduce new weapons for in game just like the 5 Corners Adventure. But outside of that the character sheet is ready, we just need to talk personality and background. I’ll try and email you some thoughts.

There is a guy who really wants to play a Lunar on the White Wolf forum. I told him that if he gives us a really well put together concept and character sheet I’d think about it. Any opinions?

I’m going to wait until we hear from Shayuri before starting the game proper, but now is the time to figure out where we want to meet, who knows who and so forth.

False Skies: Location North East: I’m guessing north of Rubylak, and east of Crystal.

Kade: Location: East: Lookshy area (assuming we go with his origin as written, and don’t change it)

Spider: Location: West

Fifth Bodhisstava Location: South East: Around Yane

Now I’ve said in the past that we’d start in the North East, but that was just a semi random location to give you guys something to work with, it can be just about anywhere.

So what I need from you guys right now is 1) a list of languages you have from Linguistics. Your first one is going to be where you were raised.

Spider (High Realm) +1 more
Kade (Riverspeak) +2 more
False Skies (Forest Tongue or Skytongue dependant on exact location) +1 more
Fifth Bodhisstava (Flametongue) +3 more

And 2) have you guys met, and if so when and how long ago.

Note: Spider-with your Mentor it will be very easy for you to be brought into any game, so you really don’t have to worry about this one.

Fifth Bodhisstava—with your background I think I can fairly easily get you into just about any story, but with your deep routed attachment to the South, it might be best if you think of reasons why you are moving on. If you just can’t think of anything then we can always move the game to the South.

Kade and False Skies: as the two players that are somewhat close to each other and without any really strong attachments to any one city, it would be great if you guys could start out together at least. Let me know what you think about that. This is also assuming that Kade doesn’t radically alter origin.
