I don't know why all of the disdain for the observation. Exalted is a kick-ass game. If you tone down the super-anime parts (which Exalted is designed to emulate), it has a feel very much like "Western" fantasy.

I'd applaud the WotC design team for taking inspiration from Exalted

Maybe it have to do with the fact WW didn't go for somes of classic fantasy sources for that game.... especialy their 'no Tolkien' thing.
