I hope they fix the BAB error in the Soulknife table. As currently printed, it looks like they don't get their third attack until 20th level (BAB +15) when they should at 15th (BAB +11).

"It's not an error. The designers turned the class as is. We took the chance of originality."

Yet another terminology for quickened spell/ability actions. First it was quickened (PHB), then it was Swift Action (MH), now it's Immediate Action (EPHb). Welcome to the impending 2eification of 3.x Hopefully it stops there.
Actually, they all look like they are different to me and having standardized naming for them is good. I just wish all three were in the PlayersHB.

Because it deals actual ability damage, the Knife to the Soul ability is FAR more powerful--more WRT incapacitating fighters and monsters than to stripping spells (though it's good at that too). The one-shot incapacitation of any low-int creature and 2 shot incapacitation of 10 int creatures at high levels is the real reason that it concerns me.

Agreed, but note that it doesn't affect creatures immune to mind-affecting effects. At 13th level, when the Soulknife gets Knife to the Soul, he can't do more than 3 points of ability damage per hit. By 15th level, his opponents should have access to Mind Blank, which would give complete protection against this ability.

Plus, there will probably be something in the Expanded Psionics Handbook (feats, powers or items) to balance this out by giving partial or complete protection against mind-affecting effects.

Oh, while I'm complaining about errors which I hope get fixed, the damage dice for Psychic Strike is given as d6 in the description of Knife to the Soul and d8 in its own description.

Intellect Fortress vs Psychic Crush

So we can see from the power excerpt how Psionic combat is translated into powers. Makes a lot of sense to me. Except: How do we account for using Intellect Fortress as a defense against Psychic Crush? Specifically, how do you half the damage of a power that sets your HP at -1? I suppose you would halve their current hit points. Though for characters with few hitpoints, it might be advantageous to fail your saving throw...

I really think they should've made the half-giants "Large Humanoids", just so there was finally a "Large" humanoid... *sigh*

Making a creature Large makes it tons more powerful. They get reach, they get higher dice weapons, and they become immune to spells that only affect medium size creatures. Look at the half-Ogre for an example of a critter that they tried to balance at low-ECLs and be large sized. It's generally agreed to be broken.

Anyway, if I can swallow dwarves as medium sized, I can believe these half-giants are medium sized. If it helps keep the ECL low, so be it.

EDIT: And did anyone else notice that there's a male maenad in the picture?!?
