All I know is that ad looked pretty cool, and (not that it will happen) if I ever play that adventure I have the urge to create a flail-wielding vampire hunter with daggers, holy water, some throwing axes and a cross-shaped boomerang...

No way is the cartridge cover CC's work. konami did eventually change the cover to Simon in frony of a plain blue background.

Cant you tell by looking at the two pictures that they are different artists? The one on the bottom, the one from the old adventure is a much better drawling. Better color too. But I think that striking resemblance is just nuts ;p

I think Iron heroes would make a good aproximation to cover the antics and areas of Castlvania flavered P&P. Less flight and other bypass magic, combat zones for the stage effects [Crumbling bridges, leaping from gears and platforms... etc] and no bloody cleric Blowing everything up.
